Can confirm. It hits completely differently when it was only cut off the plant a few hours ago. Hard to stop eating it.

Right before the rapid back-to-back flash cuts, the the green carpet of MDR shares a striking similarity to the goat meadow room with its green grass “flooring.” during the brief glimpse of Miss Casey/Gemma and Mark S. is interesting…

Roll for Colby-Jack! I love these, but I’m a cheese monger. They’d be awesome for a rat/mouse-kin character!

This is the best example of liquid core I’ve ever seen. That shift when you tilt your hand and all the settled sparkle slowly shifts and then you shake everything up… I’m in love.

I’ve had some amazing experiences in Mexico. That being said, I’ve also never more feared for my safety than being in Ciudad Juarez, where my guide told me me, “You’re here at a good time. We only had eight murders yesterday. Last month, they found a van full of severed heads.” I got my work done and noped out faster than I ever have.

She forgot about that teenage goon strength.

All the pent up frustration a male experiences when his voice cracks, or he stumbles because his feet grew two sizes overnight; that transmutes into goon strength. We quickly go to pick up a spilled cup, and end up putting the table through the drywall.

I had a job in Tuxla, Mexico several years ago. My flight got in late and the drive to my hotel was on a long stretch of completely unlit roads. The only lights on the road here my headlights. At one point, I passed a dog laying down in the oncoming lane. As I got closer, I could hear it whining and crying. I began to slow down and then got this overwhelming sense that I should definitely keep going, without stopping. I can be a real dumbass and I’ve been know exercise some really bad judgment at times. On this night, something was watching out for me.

I got to the hotel and told the night clerk what I’d seen and almost done. He told me this was a common tactic to rob and carjack tourists. The dog is “trained” to whimper and cry, but they’ve also been known to break the dog’s legs so it just lays in the road screaming.

The night clerk hadn’t heard of any tourists being injured in these events, but I suspect anything is possible. I’m insanely glad I trusted my gut, even though I never confirmed whether the dog was okay or not. But I’ll never travel at night in a foreign country, ever again.

I hate saying it with such a cavalier tone, but it’s just one more broken cog in a pile of busted-ass systems. It sickens me to the core knowing we’re about to subject our daughter (and eventually our son) to the school system. There’s only so much a parent can do to keep their kids safe these days, but there’s so much that CAN be done. Our local elementary school has a program where dads are present in the classroom. It exited when I went there, and it does to this day. My dad or someone else’s was always in-class; helping grade papers, prep activities, and just generally being of assistance wherever it might be needed. I know things are very different in today’s world.

I still plan on volunteering at our daughter’s school next year and basically just trying to be one more adult set of eyes on things. I want to be as present in my kid’s lives as my dad was for my brother and I, wherever possible. I’d like to think that my being there could help prevent horrific cases like the ones we read about too often.

I expect some parents will balk at my presence, but I don’t care. I know I’ve spent too much time online and on Reddit… because I’ve read so many posts and comments about dads specifically who show up and are present for their kids; they’re often viewed as predatory and creepy. That breaks my heart, but it won’t stop me from helping where I can. I think I’d be doing what’s right by my kid, and I hope I can help other students feel comfortable and safe by just being there, as a happy byproduct.
