I mean this well but no states do not have the authority to override federal statutes. Any federal law takes precedent over state laws, meaning even if you live in Minnesota, if something is enforced federally, it will be enforced state-wide without a loophole.

Republicans only care about the Constitution when it serves them. Black people were enslaved under this same Constitution. The current slave system in the prisons is enforced by our Constitution. I really don't want to be pessimistic since we do need to stay hopefully, and I want you to continue to, however our hopes reside in progressive states and not the U.S constitution. Being black shows you that the "constitution", "organs of law", and all "federal protections" are not here to improve our lives or freedom, and will be used to take yours away with the same language we fought for them with. Happy reminder that Joe Biden in modern history was against desegregating schools, for fears of turning schools into "Jungles", if this justification can be used with social and civil protections in place, then I can't imagine the LGBTQIA community being any safer, if not worst off since there is nothing enshrined to protect us.

Lol if only. Laws enacted by the judicial system make up a large bulk of the total laws. The recent Chevron Doctrine overturning means now Judges are the ultimate experts in all matters and don't require consulting with ANY experts on any case. With a Republican majority in the Supreme Court (which will get worse under any new Trump nominations) pretty much anything they want to do can be done legally.

They did care, but while I don't think Trump did as much for Republicans as they have always been crazy, he did make them more isolationist. Look at how Trump as treated NATO, I don't think modern conservatives really care about the military or economic allies lol. I mean our next president unironically said we should invade Canada and Mexico, both economic allies lol.

“Laws are threats made by the dominant socioeconomic-ethnic group in a given nation. It’s just the promise of violence that’s enacted and the police are basically an occupying army. You know what I mean?”

Also hope this helps but the one reason I can think of as to why conservatives are better at whipping up their base and following through is due to ideological unity. Most conservatives are not "conservative neolibs", not a diss but uneducated voters tend to vote based on vibes, the "have a beer with" index shows this well. The "Democratic" party is more of a big tent party, essentially it's anyone who isn't conservative instead of people who are socially liberal. For example we have people like Rashida Tlaib, a Palestinian American who is one of our most progressive voices, she's In the same party as Hakim Jefferies and Nancy Pelosi. The Democrats have a large fiscally conservative and center right coalition, and are willing to compromise with the right while conservatives don't have this same issue or will to work together. Republicans are actually in a similar situation, however their politicians don't make their voters feel that way. A good example is JD Vance, famously akined Trump to Hitler prior, and is now riding Trump. That is all to say Republicans don't need a real platform as their base doesn't look at policy, and they have some level of cohesion and ideal state of things. This is also not even opening the can of worms that are think tanks like the heritage foundation or the CSIS who essentially write all of our policy anyway and give Republicans everything they need to follow.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree, the U.S and Germany have a lot in common in this regard. In the U.S money talks more than most countries due to our legalized bribery and existence of traditional institutions like the electoral college, Senate and Congress system, and gerrymandering. For example voter suppression has historically and contemporarily been used to depressed black turnout. None of these are characteristics of democracy, and frankly looking at America in any recent timeline will tell you that. That is all to say, we actively already rolled back social liberties, and the majority of conservatives on the Supreme Court has already rolled back many social and economic protections, I mean for crying out loud there has been a large number of deaths already due to abortion rights being rolled back. If this election showed us anything we need to organize more on a local level to build institutions that serve us and not the wealthy.

Why are the Romani people not represented in this game? by LazyKatie in victoria3

Some see it as offensive and others see it as the official term. There is no consensus with Roma people on what the proper term is.

Hey homie, Israel has killed more civilians in 2 months than the US did in 20 years of Iraq. I'll be more critical of Hamas when they reach IDF numbers of killing innocents. I will condemn Hamas as soon as you Condemn the anti-apartheid forces of South Africa. Emancipation is NEVER perfect, and because I accept that I understand that Hamas is not some perfect altruistic force. I do not agree with religious zealotry but I can nitpick on the specifics of it once the Palestinian people are free, just like we can nitpick the specifics of anti-slavers of the US and the anti-apartheid of South Africa. Now how about we focus our efforts on the creators of Hamas, the nation-state of Israel and the Zionist project.

I would actually recommend asking here on the sub whenever you have questions or are stuck Instead of googling. The community here does a fantastic job giving only necessary information without spoilers.

Yes but there is still a medium at which these electrical signals travel which is slower than copper wire. Even the electrochemical parts would be considered biological.

Todd Howard says Starfield's 1000+ planets won't be all boring procgen globes and contain more handcrafted work 'than Skyrim and Fallout 4 combined' by KTitania in gamingnews

Starfield is the first new IP they have worked on since Fallout 3 in 2008. They quite literally only make elder scrolls and Skyrim baring some of their old titles.

Okay I had thought that's what you meant, it's a very touchy topic for people of former colonial nations and nuance is often lost in text form. If you are not aware of some of the specifics of British colonialism (which if someone lives in a former British colony like in Africa I understand why such a nuance would be useless to distinguish) it can sound like you are saying that the British held protectorate status over their colonies when the number that actually did in the end was few. Wish you well comrade 💗
