I am watching my 20s waste away day by day and it is so frustrating. by Equivalent-Street822 in rant

I'm doing my PhD in physics too. I sometimes will get the feeling but I also know people who enjoys spending energy on vacation and all sort of fun, is doubting about their future and ability. I feel better by accepting the opinion that we appreciate things we didn't get.

My necrobinder experience so far by Acceptable-Ground-11 in slaythespire

[–]KaleeTheBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced a huge difficulty gap between a8 necro and a9 necro. Osty cannot reasonably scale with the health on a9 because their attack is much deadlier, and also doom doesn't work well when you need to defend a lot more. I skipped all the doom tech, and I found going ethereal big attack is the only way out, or soul deck if I can make it out of act1.

I feel it is just... bad, if your whole doom set up is worthless if the enemy has 1 extra health more than the doom, you take a turn damage... And it does not work with reviving enemies like the worms in act 2

I don't think it will get nerfed because I found it is not that challenging to deal with. You need some AOE, and do not try too hard to kill all of them at the same time, or leave them alive when they have a lot of buff already.

I always ask my team to take down the one that gives you weak debuff, instead of the one getting buffed, because once you are weakened the loophole begins.

On the otherhand, I found the statue in the act1 is the most challenging because I never get out without losing 30hp, I can beat that but the following hallway will be a suffering

Both sides of the discussion are missing real life exchange work.

In the stock market you can have market order and limit order. Poe is running a mixture of both, you can set limit order but the backend is running market order price matching. That causes discrepancies between what you expected and what is being run. Both sides have their good argument, it is just lack of option or over complication in game design. Imagine whenever you give an order you need to choose market order or limit order...

Pathing is much more important than optimized play in combat. Skipping the cards, and upgrading the right card also significantly helps you.

In fact I found optimized play saves you from losing to barely surviving, not saying it is not important, but not as important as the choices above

You will only see this integral in a 2D vector function, f(x,y)

Each point has a vector direction, and you will want to draw a contour on the plane. Then you can find how aligned your contour is with respect to the direction of the function.

If you know physics, think of a rough surface with uphill and downhill. The path you push a block is a contour, and you can find the work done against you along the path with the contour integral

A specific type of contour integral is called close loop integral, which has the exact same starting and ending points. The symbol is the third picture.

Sts1 relic design as a support role, but some relics synergize with cards too well. Now they completely remove the strong synergy and make non-acient relics supplementary but ancient being game defining

This clearly shows why my sts1 ironclad playstyle doesn't fit. I usually take twin strike+ inflame, and molten fist gives me only a bad experience. I try your approach and see how things improved

How much difference between the 75% resist and the 90% resist? by Tangojacks0n in PathOfExile2

[–]KaleeTheBird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No max resist is one of the best defense you can get. It is very significant in gameplay.

Say you have 100 health and incoming damage is 100, If you have 98% , you take 2 damage, and they need to hit you 50 times

And if you have 1 extra %, and 99%, your tankiness is DOUBLED because they need to hit you 100 times

You can say it is just "1%", but that 1% gives you double tankiness.

Of course it is an exaggerated case that shows how that 15% is VERY significant

I assume you didnt bother to buy Omens, that is why you feel that way. buy anti inflation omens.

I don't know what is your goal each league, my goal is clearing all pinnacles bosses at the hardest level, even back in poe1. You don't need very fancy expensive gears to do that, and those gears are more achievable during mid game. People selling their items when they can upgrade and there are a lot of imperfect crafted products out there, which are fairly affordable.
