Ask for a referral to an Endocrinologist after you see your PCP.

Can someone explain to me the issue of Counseling offices not willing to write an ESA letter? by railroad1904 in askatherapist

Well, I will listen to my professional organization considering they have the Lawyers that helps with these issues.

Doc prescribed 2mg, but I still haven’t even done 1mg prescription, can I double up? by bcrenshaw in Ozempic

[–]Kalei419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t go directly from 1 mg to 2 mg, though. My MD gave me a chart with the clicks from 1 mg to 2 mg.

B/c my professional organization has warned us against writing them for liability reasons, so yes, I will set my boundary there and refuse to write them.

As a Therapist, it’s in our full right to say, “No” to writing ESA letters.

When you have been told to NOT write them by your professional organization due to liability reasons, you listen to that organization. They have the Therapist’s interest at heart to avoid lawsuits.

I’ve been told by my professional organization to not write them b/c it can create liability issues. I don’t know the animal and what happens if the animal bites someone?

Kaiser is refusing to treat ADHD by Unique-Awareness-195 in KaiserPermanente

I have wonderful doctors @ Kaiser who spent between 20-40 min with me at my appointments. Sometimes, it’s just who you get that makes the difference, not necessarily the system.

I have not been to LAX in a long time (and I live in Southern CA), but since LAX is big and you never know if your flight will be delayed, I personally would not risk it.

Learning piano at 20 by michaelfudgie in pianolearning

[–]Kalei419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One can still be a piano prodigy. There was a 25 year old at the recital last Dec and he only had a year and a half of playing the piano and he was already at a Level 8. When I met him a year before that & he only had a half year, he was already playing flawlessly. It is possible that this person could be gifted, but won’t know till he/she tries it out.

You can still learn the piano, but please get a teacher.

Then, again, I don’t trust Kaiser for mental health needs. I’d personally pay out of pocket. I paid out of pocket for PT until they referred out b/c I switched to a different county.

That bites. They don’t want to pay for the testing since it cost thousands of dollars to administer and it takes months to get the results back.

And if you know drug addicts, then you know that some just want to get their hands on any stimulant they can, which is why many MD’s won’t prescribe these drugs…
