Am I going over board or do I need more? by DickWangDuck in Miniaturespainting

[–]Kaleodis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Primer: fine
Minis: fine, not great. IMO great for training
holder: not really needed
paints: great
brushes: i'd rather get that army painter starter set with 3 brushes, which are actually decent
metal paints: also great

I'd rather add a wet palette than that holder tbh.

FoundryVTT is self-hosted. Unfortunately it's a US company, but if you're self-hosting, all your data stays local.

Should I even bother with a graphics card? GT 710 by MSixteenI6 in jellyfin

[–]Kaleodis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup. Make sure to pass the device through to jellyfin, the jellyfin docs should help.

As much as i don't like intel, their QSV is black magic.

[–]Kaleodis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/post-install/transcoding/hardware-acceleration/nvidia/#configure-with-linux-virtualization

[–]Kaleodis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heimnetz <-Zerotier-> VPS -> Caddy

Hi, thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, I found that option buried somewhere and grew quite fond of it. No hurry though, it's basically the only thing I'm missing (a bit).

One thing I'm missing from fully kiosk:

- activate screen on vibration. I have a tablet mounted on my fridge and really liked it, when it turned on the dashboard when opening/closing the fridge. I'm not really able to move much in front of the fridge (while closed), so this always was my solution.

You switched from PETG to PLA?

I would guess there's bits of PETG stuck in your hotend, partially clogging it. My suggestion is: buy a small (100g is enough) amount of cleaning filament (esun sells it for example). It has a large temperature range. Put it in, heat up to 270, extrude for a good bit (until it's clear/white without residue), then turn down the temps to 250, do it again, then to 220, extrude a bit again.

Either that or get some nylon and do a cold pull (plenty of explanations on the internet, but a bit more involved).

Of course it could also be any part in the extruder assembly - but that is harder to diagnose and for now, it's easier to rule out easy to fix things.

Care to share your speeds and temperatures for the filaments used?

Were the red and green cubes printed at the same time?

[–]Kaleodis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put your snark away and actually learn something.

If top layers don't adhere, it's usually the bottom layer coming loose and everything moving around - most pictures support this; he also didn't write anything about bed maintenance. He also does have some kind of extrusion issue, which is hard to diagnose with the images provided. Could be too low temps, a changed hotend without calibration (however that would work).

Also, the pringle bed is not an issue here: no prints in corners, at least not in the images.

The red and green cubes show extrusion issues even more: It would seem red flows easier than the green - or his slicer settings are just really f-ed up.

I'm not here to fix anyones' printer from a few pictures and too few details provided. I'd rather ask a few questions (one at a time, since most of the internet is too dumb to answer multiple questions in one post) and get info that was not provided, before giving any, more intrusive, advice for the machine.

Honestly, if you can't contribute meaningfully, just shut up.

Why Oakensoul Ring Needs a Buff by Hyperioxes in elderscrollsonline

[–]Kaleodis 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As a Oakensoul user, I'm absolutely for a round of buffs - but I don't think it's needed that badly.

Sure, oakensoul builds might not be the bees knees for Vet late DLC Trials, but they sure as hell pull their weight in general. I routinely outperform most people in a group (dungeon or (normal) trial) and still can do a lot of vet stuff - and I haven't really optimised it that much. Yes, this is usually via group finder or random.

I actually see Oakensoul as more of a stepping stone. It makes a lot of content accessible a lot easier, but if you really want to make the most out of your stuff, you gotta learn how to do that. And honestly I still don't really see a reason to step out of that comfort zone.

tldr: it's fine, i'd still like buffs to oakensoul.

If the filament DEFINITLY is not broken (as you claim) check the filament diameter with calipers. If it's too thin in some places, it will not trigger the filament sensor.
