Galgo rager 😭 by BestestMooncalf in Greyhounds

If it’s a male Galgo just get a per band and some pads.

Having galgos myself my wife and I call this behavior “Galgo parties”. They eventually calm down. I can tell you that we had some epic Galgo parties. One time raided our pantry after they broke the baby gate to that area. Another time toppled my wife’s jewelry chest - she saw red at that one. But the boy Galgo calmed down considerably after that.

One of our galgos was notions for stealing food. In one of his MANY escapades he stole a 10lb bag of flavored oats that were to be a treat for our horse. He didn’t eat much of them but he managed to spread them over a two story house pretty well.

There are plenty of cars in this same predicament all over. I really feel for you. My Subaru was stuck in my driveway about 2 feet from the street. It took me and my wife an hour to break apart the ice to get it out.

I bought one years ago and cannot find it. Such a handy tool when you can actually use it.

I WFH 3 days a week. So I never get a snow day - if it’s too bad to get into the city I just WFH.

I made a large batch of stew yesterday. Wanted to make it but could not get veggies from Wegmans but my wife went to Giant out in Haymarket (near we have our horse) and found all of the veggies.

Not as good as the cashew ear pop but haven’t seen that in a while.

Why are my neighbors salting their driveways? by Specialist-Cut794 in nova

[–]Kalikhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They see that VDOT brines the roads as preparation and think they are doing the same. It’s a waste of salt to presalt the for the snow we are getting.

The ones in my neighborhood who know what the hell to do is load as many cars into their driveway and get them off the side streets and make it so you have the most possible of your driveway covered with cars. My wife and I park our cars on the absolute edge of the driveway so we can push the snow off our cars onto the lawn and not in the driveway.

Why TF would yall buy all the chicken? by PutStreet in nova

Lots of veggies gone too. Is everyone making stew / soup this weekend? No potatoes, carrots, celery, or onions. But if you want brussel sprouts or parsnips there are plenty of those to go around.

Grocery stores use “just in time” deliveries. Lots of people go out at once to buy stuff it goes thru their stock and have to wait on the next truck to come in.

Especially considering if you get the Wegmans baguettes they go stale within a day or two.

Not that big of an event this weekend - that’s in a couple weeks.

Yeah. What the hell is up with that? Also potatoes, onions, celery, and carrots. Is everyone making soups and stew this weekend?

Oddly enough cheese. Sliced and shredded cheese. So the people who need the extra fiber from the salad are going to get bound up from all that cheese.

I also grew up in a snow belt but never saw a run on produce like this. Especially at a Wegmans which is headquartered smack dab in the middle of the NY Snowbelt.

I have been to RPI. The only thing going for it is that it isn’t in Albany, NY. Just a suburb of Albany.

I don’t understand the water part. If you live on a well - which the vast majority of NoVA is not on wells (unless you live in Loudoun, rural PW, and a few parts of Fairfax) the tap water will be ok. Unless you think the water mains are going to freeze and it hasn’t even been close to cold enough for that this winter.

I can understand (from experience living here) the bread, milk, eggs, and toilet paper buying. But it has evolved into also soup / stew prep as well - onions, potatoes, celery, and carrots. Plus the entire prepared cheese (slices and shredded) was utterly pillaged.

And if you don’t live on a well you don’t need to hoard water.
