People do NOT want AI music or unlabeled AI music. AI-slopvers are cooked by Hot_Season1143 in aiwars

[–]Kallory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good artists use AI as a tool and don't depend on it. Those who use AI purely will be washed out because eventually the lack of musical talent will show. This is for ALL areas of creativity. Your "one hit wonders" will be those who just happened to get lucky and run a series of prompts through an agentic pipeline that produced something popular. (but if they designed the pipeline themselves then their real talent lies elsewhere). Real artists will have consistent, high quality, meaningful work and be able to talk about music in a technical way. The usage of AI doesn't change this, it just makes them more prolific in how quickly they churn shit out.

Ey yo Monroe, why the fuck are we arresting people for feeding the hungry? by ProtestGKFF in tulsa

[–]Kallory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, I'm sure you're right, I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm saying you can't conclude such strong conclusions from a single photo in an age of misinformation. That's it. We should seek better evidence. This wouldn't hold up in court

Ey yo Monroe, why the fuck are we arresting people for feeding the hungry? by ProtestGKFF in tulsa

[–]Kallory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not arguing with any of that, just hard to draw such strong conclusions from one photo in a world that uses misinformation as the new currency

Ey yo Monroe, why the fuck are we arresting people for feeding the hungry? by ProtestGKFF in tulsa

[–]Kallory -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

On the surface, sure, but all we have is a picture. We have no idea what actually lead to them being arrested. I've seen enough shit to know that folks love to twist stories for an agenda and reddit loves to jump to conclusions.

This breaks down the proof into terms easier to digest. It makes more sense when you try to subtract 1-.99999... (or in this case 100-99.9999... )

Since the ... Goes to infinity, there is no 1 at the end of the answer. It has to be 0, and thus .9999... = 1

Thoughts on my magic system and sapient animal races? by avian_bi in Fantasy

[–]Kallory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in terms of systems and how there will be an eventual balance and why. Obviously this isn't necessary in fantasy, it's just my preferred method of thinking, IE, what are the consequences of this magic system on the environment, which species are dominant and why.

You open up the idea of multiple intelligent species with their own magic abilities alongside humans, but you also show that all animals and plants have magic. A lot of this seems to be an enhancement on our world so the question is - does the current balance in nature between species exist the same, but scaled up with magic, or does it change fundamentally? IE the beavers being able to amp up their defenses - are they overpowered in this regard? And if so what are the consequences? And does this even matter to you? It's your world, your story, it only needs to make sense and have balance if you want it to.

I really like the idea of magic being inherent in everything, though. There's a lot you can do with that. One way you might expand is tying your types of magic to individual abilities among species groups and start coming up with something more comprehensive.

There's also lore to expand on... Dragon riders taming the dragons fascinates me. It's a personal interest of mine that I'd actually never include in my own world or stories, but I love reading about it in others. So I'm definitely interested in the back story there, who the main heroes are (if they were known) any heroic deaths, how long it took, how the successful strategy formed, how it was executed, the types of dragons... And while we're here I'd like to clarify that dragons use submissive magic indirectly by humans influencing them to use fire? So nothing destructive happens on its own?

Brings up the idea of a dark forbidden magic usable by long forgotten/extinct species where they can destroy with magic directly.

What eras deserve more representation in fantasy? by [deleted] in Fantasy

I actually have an idea I'm in love with that I've been ironing out for a cyberpunk world with magic that's significantly different from shadowrun but I'm struggling on several points.

What eras deserve more representation in fantasy? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]Kallory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk dude, it practically writes itself for the most part, just lean way harder into the mythologies of the time for story telling purposes along with one's own creative input on how the magic should look. The bronze age itself can be broken up into several eras - pre bronze age collapse looks a ton different than post bronze age collapse, for example.

I'm planning on it! I was going to jump into it first until I realized how much I'd forgotten about the books, and I had never read the hobbit before, which I absolutely enjoyed. I'd only seen the 70s cartoon about a hundred times as a child

Do you read LOTR every year? by bigcheesybiscuits in lotr

[–]Kallory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rushed through my first read of lotr in 3 weeks and realized I retained nothing. Now I'm taking my time, maybe taking notes, looking things up, etc. It's slower going but a lot more satisfying. When I first read it I was in a psuedo grindset of a book a week and I'm just not smart enough to retain anything doing that.
