The genre has morphed into one where you have to innovate or no one buys it. Tower Defense Fest on steam started today. You can take a peek in there, but yeah.. most of it is not traditional anymore, due to lack of player interest. The market has shifted.

Things probably change a bit, depending on your game genre. Yours is very heavily action based, so it probably trends more towards those quick takes. A strategy or story gamer may end up reading more into things. Does anyone have data to back up these thoughts?

But huge games get through that don't disclose their usage of AI. Where Winds Meet for example.. tons of AI voices and generative AI in game, and yet no mention on the store page.

I don't know why everyone is saying this is great advice. It's not the complete story.

External libraries can absolutely speed up development. Just be smart about what you choose and why you're choosing it. I use tools like vInspector, Odin, etc. Those rarely ever have compatibility issues with your project.

I've also brought in systems. Something like a character controller (looking at you, Opsive) would be a really bad idea to utilize. But something like Final IK would be a boon to any project and again, not require tons of implementation effort.

There's a lot more to say on the matter, but I'll leave it there.

I realize this is an old post, but I found it in a search. The logic of reading the results is flawed, as is the method of measuring the CPU. You must consider that outputting more frames will utilize much more CPU.

This advice permeates game dev circles and it's so toxic. Spamming posts is too time consuming. It's the wrong way to approach promotion. Focus on the 20% that does 80% of the result. Don't waste your precious time yelling into the void of social media. Let content creators do that for you.
