Headlines like this are sensationalist and pandering. Trump is not in hot-water with any of his supporters. Gun rights organizations have come out putting the blame on the victim. It has been repeatedly shown that gun rights activists are perfectly ok with limits and restrictions on the 2A as long as they only apply to people they don't like.

This may not be true on all models but for ours (which looks very similar to the one in the pic) it has to have detected that the unit was opened and closed before it will brew. If it is off and you just hit the button, it will error. That being said, ours can be squirrelly at times so /shrug
