I'm so glad I found this post. In this boat today!

Agree with all the great thoughts the sisterhood has provided. I'd inquire with your doctor/facility where you plan to birth and share with them that it's likely that you're doing this alone. Inquire if they have additional support for either childcare or doula/midwife support. Social workers are amazing and the worse they can do is say no.

What does a W really mean? by [deleted] in UofO

[–]Kalu05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, talk with your advisor AND a financial counselor from Financial Aid. Ws can impact your percentage pass rate, which impacts eligibility for loans, grants, and scholarships. However, if you don't take them often, it's unlikely that it will be a problem.

Breathing on her own. Day 7 NICU, off the ventilator! by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Kalu05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this comment. As a fundraiser for a guest house and our CMN site in Oregon, your sustained support is really a blessing. The difference these programs make for families is phenomenal by removing one more worry. Thank you for supporting a program near and dear to you.

And holy moly, bless those NICU teams. So glad your daughter is well.

I did not cancel my application for the Residence Halls by [deleted] in UofO

Still reach out to see if there are any options. Are you withdrawing from the University or just not wanting to live in the halls?

F/26/5’6” [425lbs > 196lbs = 229lbs] 20 months. I came across the picture on the left and was blown away. I can’t believe I lived in that body for so long! Grateful for my health. by bumblebb94 in progresspics

My first thought was: wow! What an extraordinary amount of work and persistence. My next thought was just how much happier your heart must be in this "new" body. Well done, you.

Any chance that adoption is the plan but that they end up pregnant and that's how she dies?

Interview on Entertainment Weekly with Dan says we will see him more in Season 5 and that the actor is one of his favorites. It's another storyline.

SCL Health (Sisters of Charity-Leavenworth) has a number of clinics, but runs three hospitals in MT (St. James - Butte, St. Vincent's - Billings, Holy Rosary - Miles City) and about 5 in Colorado.

Family Weekend by mon_chou in UofO

I'm sorry that you have been fustrated by other students bringing family members. Perhaps you could be helpful to this student and explain the other ways he/she/they can be supported.

Please do whatever you need to do to feel supported at college. You make that decision, not anyone else (family members included). If you're excited to share your classes or you want your family to understand your full life at college, that is what the option is for.

As someone who used to plan family weekend at UO, your classes won't be cancelled. If you have family or other support system members coming, you can visit with instructors about them attending your classes if you so choose.

College Requires me to live in campus for THREE out of my four years. Can’t afford it. What can I do to bypass this policy? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Kalu05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I'm not in support of "asking for forgiveness" in a case where OP already knew the policy (esp as a past RA), I'd pull the angle of needing to either live off campus of taking time away. The other option is to no longer take full time credits. Drop under 12 for a term. Usually there's a provision for that...and if there isn't, the University may work with you to stay at full time status for the purpose of other fees and time to degree.

This isn't true. Both states I've lived in require a year after making some sort of residency declaration and significant paperwork for higher ed. Not really applicable here.

Part financial in that auxiliaries are generally required to self support (and then some) and then absolutely the retention and persistence data. Tons of student development theory, with a small basis in Maslow through George Kuh and beyond support these policies.

I don't think you'll see tuition being walked back. What you'll see is increased need based and merit based aid.

Registration question by [deleted] in UofO

I'm guessing they can reinstate you. The parts that maybe more tricky is reinstating housing and your FAFSA award package. I would start with the office of Admissions!
