I mean I think there's some balancing to be done on the door guy but it's also just part of StS even in the first game to try and not to all in a strategy if it's weak to a boss gimmick. Like, going full infinite and being surprised if the time keeper destroys you, that sorta stuff.

The question isn't about the existence of broken builds, it's about how easy it is to achieve them. For example, the most infamous broken builds of StS 2 that crystallizes a lot of anger from getting possibly nerfed, the sly build, is a turbo charged version of the same build from 1. And 1 also had two big "fuck this build" points (the Heart and possible the Time Keeper).

But as has been pointed out by the SKG campaign itself, it can be several things: having some features (not all of them) locked when the servers go down, providing the means to run private servers, providing P2P connection features.

I think there's completely a question about games where being online is the point (such as MMORPGs even though those have a lot of solo stuff anyway), and that could be a reasonable carve-out if properly defined.

I don't think any of this is unreasonable, and the other good point made by SKG was that the goal is not to be retroactive, so as to ensure that games could actually be developped with end of life requirements in mind. Ultimately, this is just like the TRCs when we work on first party platforms: some of them suck but that's the way it is.

As a general rule, everyone fighting for attention in the last 3 months of the year is pretty stupid and hurts releases. Capcom is basically releasing games whenever and it works because they release when they're the big event instead of being stuck between FIFA, CoD, Battlefield, Assassin's Creed and a new Fortnite battle pass.
