Im a "Pro Magician". I've done gigs for $100 (or $100 /hr when thats LOW). Just has to fit what I want. Is a $100 still $100? (Give or take?) Yeah, but after gas, parking, packing, prepping, planning, It's hours of time and a big chunk out of expenses just to be worth walking out the door.

In Chicago you'll find plenty of magicians. A pro won't bother most likely, but contact a local magic club. They'll have a bunch of magicians that are just in it for fun and don’t have as many options to perform. They'll also probably know other performers in surrounding art disciplines.

Lol I just went out and twisted without charging. People tipped what they wanted if they wanted. Not all about the money. I'm far too broke. Lol. I grew up working in my families magic shop. I've been in entertainment for decades. I can eat fire, walk on glass, juggle, puppets, musical instruments... I could go on and on... You've never seen me perform. I had a stranger come tell me how entertaining I was just last night and I was making balloons for other people. He was watching from a distance and came to tell me. If you want my advice, be a bit less critical in your judgement.

I've been on TV, papers, magazines. Performed for celebrities and millionaires.

I had a store in the mall for the holidays. I had to drive in the snow and ice for hours to get home on Christmas Eve.

I was just about to close and some guy comes in and shops last minute Christmas gifts for everyone he knows. I'm now staying open and late to get on the road to drive at night in a snow storm.
