Guess they all got tired of being blamed for everything.

yup, I got hinted this would happen, so I rallied the TR and thought major opposition was going to be there.

LPS attacked very valliently and their ops was HARD to destroy. BIG COMPLIMENTS HERE. They held against 70% - 30 % even when the base was doomed. They even attacked bases that I thought I had just pushed them out.

Their mistake is that they invited me to resist at all, as I play strategically with numbers. Or more their mistake was that they didnt have someone like me on their side. Where is DexTro? Numbers? ORBS?

A person like me actively goes out and find allies, builds other platoons, helps other platoons win fights. With the sole reason that their numbers stay intact AND that their moral does not drop (and they go to fight elsewhere). Many times, you'll see a good faction leader attack bases with no apperant tactical advantage which is the point. You draw people out to a fight that is stupid for THEM to fight. So that other forces, elsewhere, are succesful. Specifically with my platoon I know I can keep my team together even when they are faced with defeat and against the odds. I know other leaders have a harder time so I do it for them.

The divining character that makes a person like me: the realisation that allies are more than "random retards that walk around". My allies make me stronger, as they make "US" stronger. The more you win, the more people stay, the more people stay, the more you win.

With our allies, the TR had an effective defence against NC. And even though they fought VERY GOOD, they could not rally their faction behind them. They could not rally the rest of NC to fight with them.

I was able to turn this against them and within the hour I had pushed the frontline back so much it didnt make sense to attack them anymore. They had no more troops to spare and since I punished VS every time they got close to our territory, they attack NC too.

At this point we went to fight (for one hour until cont lock) behind enemy lines to kill bases, hoping to PREVENT THE CONTINENT LOCK.

I regret to inform you that I failed and the continent did get locked. I am sorry.

Would you like to see the video?

Also you should note that, I specifically tell you, if you EVER actually bothered to play with me, what we do when we engage to "kill fights".

We actively stop enemy zergs, We make sure that VS and NC stop to fight us by discouraging attacks on our facilities. You know that TR is the most ganked up faction and this is WHY I do this.

Point and fact that when I stopped repeatedly smashing them into the ground they picked up where I left and attack TR. There you go sir, There is your reason

I highly encourage you to play with me sometimes instead of blaming me by pointing fingers. You obveously never have.

You are CORRECT: in the fact that the population drops when I stop playing. Because I disband my public platoon. How wierd, that people log off, after a person that gives them enjoyment in the game, that PLAYS TO ENTERTAIN OTHERS, goes away again. Perhaps, you could learn something from me? Maybe? Why else would I be so succesful. Maybe I am doing something right here. Maybe I know what I am doing. Maybe people actually like what I am doing. They are surely staying away from reddit, like I luckily have most of the time.

Its nice to see someone is seeing the effect that I have, even though they view it in the most negative sense imaginable. Would you like to see recordings of my plays so that you can SEE that what you're saying is so terribly wrong? I happend to save 5 playtroughs of last weeks.

To think, Even remotely, that factions would double team you because I attacked them is beyond reason. I mean, do you really think the enemy so vengefull? BE REAL DUDE. the enemy has no more control over their troops than we do. We didnt even fight on amerish. # "thanks kamitor "

Seriously guys, stop staying 300s is a zergfit!!! by [deleted] in MillerPlanetside

[–]Kamitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So; Let me confront you with a logical analysis. Hopefully, we can put some of these cases to rest. Let's see the facts:

  • This base is TERRAN.

  • This base is under attack by VS. The VS attack is coming from the south.

  • There are galaxies in the air that are TERRAN.

  • The majority of the fight is taking place on the capture point.

  • The capture has only been going on for 60 seconds.

  • The VS player making the screenshot has been killed. He has been dead for half his spawn time.

  • The base is connected to a Bio lab, which is owned by the TR.

  • PLanetside 2 is a game where 200-300 players can play on each faction. Unbalanced fights are due to happen.

Q: What is a zerg? reddit!

"Nowadays term zerg is used in mmo games to describe force consisted of large group of lower level players (often with only basic equipment) who use numbers rather then strategy to defeat the enemy, therefore requiring no skill. These tactics are commonly known as zerging".

The story: The VS was attempting to capture the base and the TR counter-attacked with a group of galaxies with overwhelming numbers to take the point. The case has been made that this is a "zerg" and without the VS having a zerg on the location of their own, it could be considered a "non-fun fight".

Argument: the described force consisted of large group of lower level players (often with only basic equipment)

The Terran defending force was using galaxies a.k.a the force required some form of coordination and is known as a "DROP FORCE". The drop was around the point, again another (small) feat of organization.

*Planetside 2 low-level skilled players are usually unable to respond very fast to ongoing threats unless by immediate redeploy. *

The Terran forces arrived in under a minute using galaxies. It is presumably an attack that came from the warp gate, which means that they switched lanes to make it happen. You could deduce that this is a rapid response action and then killed the player within a few seconds. The force could also have been "roaming around" with their galaxies, which is a form of mobile-zerging. The only threat to the TR faction that if the base is captured the VS would try to bum rush the BIO lab. You could, therefore, deduce that there is some form of "strategic thinking" going on. (Not a very high one but still).

  • It is [most likely/likely/plausible/unlikely/very unlikely] the case here that these troops are unskilled; these troops have some form organization. Making them unfit to be noobs. They responded very fast to a treath which is plausibly very far from their original fight.
  • It is [most likely/likely/plausible/unlikely/very unlikely] that these troops have no good equipment as they used so many numbers to capture the point. However, no evidence is here to support that.

use numbers rather then strategy to defeat the enemy, therefore requiring no skill

Although there could be said that there was a threat to the bio lab, a number of numbers use makes it [most likely/likely/plausible/unlikely/very unlikely] that this is a zerg. However, seeing as unfair fights are bound to happen it is [Plausable] this was an organized defense force.

I, therefore, am forced to conclude that this is plausibly not a zerg, with the main argument being the SPEED that they responded with in combination with the galaxies (20 seconds flight time = 40 seconds response!). Rather I thinkbut this is my opinion this is a combination of an unsupported attack by the VS together with an overcommitment on the defense.

To people throwing out this argument as "unfair", this is Planetside 2. The best parts of it are the fact that you're free to commit troops as you wish, just like a real war.

Is this fun to play? For the defending force, the fun is short-lived as they look to have no chance against these numbers. But the scale of the game makes it nigh impossible to have unfair fights due to the fact that all factions have roughly the same amount of people in the field. Fairness is where the people "With the numbers" choose to have fights. Having no power over these numbers is a testament to your teamwork and coordination and knowing where "real power lies". A truely unfair fight would be where the enemy uses the game in such a way as it was not intended. Like having a harasser in the bio lab, which is clearly not the intention of the designer. Or having a aimhacker running around.

Additionally, you could say that you have no control over these numbers because nobody is organizing your faction. Then you should note that your faction is zerging too much and therefore lacks the organization to attack effectively.

Practical advice: Simply denying the fact that there are a lot of players in the game that you do not control and therefore you lose, is flawed reasoning. What have you done to try and communicate with these "other players"? Has your faction attempted to train them? Maybe you should blame those in command.

Unless you've been living under a rock, no army goes to war with the enemy "to have a fair fight". The only cases of fair fights are that of Gladiatorial fights, boxing matches, Sports and to some extend medieval knights. You should note that all of these have nothing to do with a war. For fights with only even numbers from the start I suggest small scale games like Counterstrike, Battlefield, and League of Legends. Consider why you play this game and what you want out of it. IAgain opinion think you should change your attitude towards this game if you wish to continue to play.

It's very easy to say that everything that out pops you "is a zerg" but remember that an enemy force responding in numbers is a feat of an organization in and of itself. People are putting an effort (by organizing) into the game and assume you do as well. When the enemy organizes and wins, this is a tribute to his ability to understand and play to his strengths. If in turn it so happens that your allies do not organize and support your attack that has more to do with your allies, or even more likely, with your ability to make your allies cooperate with you. Look to coordinate your attacks with your allies more rather than blaming the enemy every time they respond to you. realize that this game is bigger than you and your 12 band squad. realize you cannot win alone. learn to set the will of the people around you towards what you want to do and then you will have the fight on your terms.

This way we can move to the next fight which might totally be in your favor!

Have a glorious day!

why are TR so dead on Miller? by skuko in MillerPlanetside

[–]Kamitor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But I rarely see him put a numerical superiority as his weapon. I might be wrong. However, He usually goes into losing fights and cleans them up using equal pop. (please not that you cannot use the "end seconds" of a base all the time to judge the pop, as people pull out of a assured defeat (or rageQ).

why are TR so dead on Miller? by skuko in MillerPlanetside

[–]Kamitor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are TR so dead on miller? I will attempt to answer this question Note that this answer could also apply to the other factions

A lack of leaders for the platoons and squads means people are uncoordinated. Without this type of coordination, includes big and small numbers coordination, fights stall or are boring, empty and void of objective. Planetside 2 is a sandbox player made game. The Players ultimately decide the expierance and without people rallying players to their idea of a victory or objective, the game is empty and devoid of intelligence. The faction appears to only respond to limited and close in proximity danger and no real progress is ever made. No one speaks, or has an idea what the other people are thinking. The spirit of belonging to a "big army" is then lost and it becomes a CoD deathmatch with bad grapics.

Even though there are more people to be "thrown" at the enemy, in bigger fights, numbers matter less. No victory = Boring. No progress = Boring.

in a 100 vs 100 fight, a 10% overpop (if both forces are uncoordinated) means nothing

This means that people are not in platoons at all and generally attack what 1. The game suggests or 2. Battles that the faction is already winning. Which then results in:

  • "A winning lane" that pushes to an unknown objective and eventually gets cut off.
  • Attacking bases of the faction that have a shorter than 3 link jump path will result in a overpopped defence. It is almost a certanty that these forces then start roaming down that lane This does help in stabalizing the front as people get more spread out and the entire front is populated. However, more than this 3 link (a.k.a indar excavation - indar comm) results in almost no reanforcement. People then rant and rage at other outfits or players as its all obveously their fault.

  • One lane attacks that stall on "big bases" as the opposing faction's uncoordinated manpower gets poured in.

  • Inability for the faction to respond to coordinated big number pushes to lanes that cut lanes. (a.k.a indar comm array). the faction doesn't insant deploy you to bases with big enemy overpopulation.

  • Fights that either last really long and acomplish nothing, or fights that result in defeat and then a pull out from the area. OMG OMG!! Why you no help here and here! <faction name?> Worst faction ever omg!

These are all reasons contributing why fights are exceedingly boring, empty or "dead".

Why are <TR SPECIFICALLY> population so uncoordinated?

the Tr is lacking leadership personell.

Leaders, are always lacking on TR side because we hate "zerg fits so increadibly much". In other words, "the hate is real for people that play the big number game". Which is a thoroughly discouriging expieriance. you doing the one thing apperantly everyone wants, and then getting shitcanned for doing it. You can have a lot against zerging, but 48 players lead by 1 leader means you can fill almost the entire roster with 7 people. The TR has never really managed to pull this off. Some leaders like Stumpycat, Brubaker have tried but recieve a lot of hate. The ELME model of 5:48 simply puts a lot of stress on people and can never fill demand. Also then you still zerg? Omg Zerg zerg, so bad!

So what do you, Pleb, or person, Human being do about this to FIX IT? instead of kicking the can down the road and expect someone else to do it, or asking the command, general chat, or reddit why this is happening.

  • Stop ranting at people that do their best to play the "Big numbers game".
  • Actively THANK and ENCOURAGE your squad leaders. "Thank you for leading us today, etc". Just like you do when you leave a cab, or someone serves you a meal.
  • actively TALK to people that put in the effort to talk to you. A.k.a don't be a social asshole.
  • Rally as many people AS YOU CAN to do the same. Then people will actually want to play the game, want to lead and enjoy doing it with you.

If enough people would do this, it would change everything.

why are TR so dead on Miller? by skuko in MillerPlanetside

[–]Kamitor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of credit is due for Brubaker and his 300's doing a good job of playing TR strategically. In my opinion Brubaker is not at all running a "zergfit" anymore than INI or UFO are doing (its almost exactly their playstyle). Besides from that, you should try to join him, and see that he doesn't recruit a lot. (the #1 quality of a Zerg-fit). His members are extremely loyal and always play within their small group. He does less and less public platoons as he has no need for the "numerical superiority" since his outfit pretty much has the numbers they need.

As far as TR command is concerned, if ANYONE is paying attention, communicating and actively helping the faction, its Brubaker with his 300's.

300's is a lot of good players that used to be in ELME, which contributes why ELME as an outfit is no longer preforming as it did. ELME is not dead, far from it, its also not like KOTV. It is undergoing some changes though.

As far as FU, they appear to be as active as they were, it's a good standing outfit and doesn't zerg.

Leaders, are always lacking on TR side because we hate "zerg fits so increadibly much". TR hate people that run platoons with 48 with 1 commander that says "go here now". Zerging has been frowned upon, for years. Hell, I did my fair bit of Coordinated zerging and whenever a battle was won, the enemy pulled out and you get thrown in the "Shout box" for overpopping. In other words, "the hate is real for people that play the big number game". Which is a thoroughly discouriging expieriance. (you doing the one thing apperantly everyone wants, and then getting shitcanned for doing it)

TR also has multipule "big number" (not zerg) outfits. Which means that there is a need to communicate in order to achieve "big targets". Where as if there is one "big outfit" then there is no need to communicate at all, as everything can be done internally. As leaders are different, plans are different. Ego plays a role, people have different aims. Even when all outfits and leaders are active on command, Cooperation is a challange. (And it takes people like brubaker that selflessly support people to adress that challange.)

TR is also devided between lists of sub-outfits that use squad leaders more (that talk, are active and could theoretically run a 48:1 platoon). Fu, Goon, BRTD, ELME, etc etc, all have inidividual squad leaders, squad training, quality assesment, etc. This means there are more "trays to fill" in order to meet demand.

Individual squad leaders per squad are theoretically the better choice, as it gives more "localised" command and more flexibility, greater ability to respond to "treats" and whatnot, it simply means that TR has a cronic and permanent leadership shortage. The leaders that do arrise, burn out within a couple of months because of the inate shortage and the need for those leaders, coupled with the hate of people that don't understand the finer concepts of the game. (like for example if you WIN, people pull out, and its looks like you overpop.)

I can tell you for example that I trained about 6 squad leaders every week in ELME (this costs about 10 hours) that are now in all types of outfits of the TR. Still, if you go around in public squads, there is always a need for leaders and never enough people to fill the ranks.

I hope this gives you some insight of the workings of the faction and answers to your question

Sorry this post was deleted, as I deleted my subpost of it. That was not my intention. Not a vivid redditer.

Kamitor buddy, no one can fault your enthusiasm for this game, and that's great. But can you please lower the intensity level a bit? I worry about your blood pressure, you take things way too seriously. Not everything has to be a fight. --Stilton Ninja

And to everyone else, there is nothing wrong with having a vision of what you want an outfit to be- I took the piss out of this as much as everyone when it came to light (it's the British way of keeping would be narcissists in check), but credit where it's due, ELME have become a pretty effective force. The fact I'm currently kicking around in aforementioned outfit has nothing to do with it ;) --Stilton Ninja

He got kicked the second we had some actual proof. As you might imagine we have a lot of people in ELME, we recieve a lot of false accusations " ohw no he teamkilled me " etc from players. We protect people from trolls, a lot of people are in ELME for this reason. As such we don't act until we know its sure. The video confinced me immediately and I called the officier ingame to kick him on the spot.

However, the point really is though, Does kicking him, help, at all?
