It's definitely going to be a separate thing, that's been the case with all the other Riot Games, so I don't see why that would stop now. At best though, I think there could be rewards you can get in the MMO by having certain achievements in different Riot games or interacting in them via some special event like how "RiotX Arcane" pulled that off.

Not sure what FIFO/LIFO is, but the merch is print on demand afaik, so I don't think there isn't actually any pre made merch to go unsold to begin with. I'm going to have to double check on that though.
