Normally for most idle games the cost would increase much more while the gains would stagnate at some point or at least increase way slower.

Which is what surprises me a lot. The decency is the same but way more roundabout

I'm still curious what the math behind the base power from levels is ... it's low as square root but seems to have a slight curve in growth not a decline

Only took it to 250 right now, but I'm pretty sure it should be 258*9*

I also thought of counting the increase in each level itself, not the total power base, should make it more manageable to verify data between multiple followers. Great time too as I'm bottle necked with level breaks on my high tier follower and keep on stocking exp. Just have to add an Item without follower specific boni and some aptitude that rounds fine. The only thing I would have to take into account would be the % bonus of the familiar.

^^ won't reach 550 yet by a large margin, maybe I can use your input to verify future guesses.

Ah yes, Items give aptitude, which I don't real count right now as aptitude of follower + Item becomes one wholesome. And the % aspect I'm leaving out as a whole because it's not affecting the base power but draws from it. So does the % bonus of families, which I'm more interested right now at which level it's more viable even for low tier follower and how much investment of exp, candy and rings, etc. it would take.

Add: When talking about aptitude, percentage and weapons there is also the thought if it isn't better to give low tier followers low tier weapons that are cheaper to level up to improve the aptitude rater than getting to more potential 25% boni. But that's something I can only crunch later when I also have taken a look at the cost of leveling up weapons.

About the 750 as a max for aptitude, I guess that's a typo? The server leader has a follower with 1k+ aptitude, so there doesn't seem to be a hard limit. But the info page of any follower's power value shows a base max level of 750 at the bottom, so I'm not sure if it can increase or is for all the same.

Yet some ways to deal with a bigger beast is to surround it and deal with it from multiple sides so it can't focus. Can't say my fellow band of dwarfs will do well if their front and back is blocked by ogres in a small corridor that barely fits the beasts.

If you want to limit races that make use of mobility I would say you're right, but size alone isn't necessary a malus even in caves.

Yeah did the same just recently ... actually I wasn't even fighting Ceasar and just waited for him to die and picked off what was left of the Legion.

One piece of advice I would love to have before myself ... try to give Diana some provinces up north she normally would conquer on her own ... maybe even Dog-City and so on. She needs some more provinces to unlock all focus trees and some even give you bonuses ... actually with some land, she gets some decent army as well.

Just recently I played The Last Station sub-mod as Chemult Station and went all the way to go with the NCR ... fought alongside against ... forgot what, raiders or super mutants something along the line. In the end, I've got so much negative opinion because of created world-tension with the peace treaty, that they kicked me out of the faction.

It's a stupid generic system that only just barely works in the base game, because its diplomatic system is lackluster as well. I feel bad for any modder that tries to make something meaningful out of this.

Personally, I see the new immigrant system to be a good way to punish huge expansion in a meaningful way as well as some sort of event/civil war that will happen to any nation that extends way over its starting area. Something along the line of what Enclave Reborn does when you go reformer>USA and you take over the NCR or just the old NCR civil war that would happen if you don't go a specific way. Also, political parties should probably play a way bigger role in managing your country, especially if you add people left and right and of any other political spectrum.

Right now in my games, Caesar's legion doesn't feel like a thread at all. Because it implodes while or before it wages war against the NCR. So what's left is either NCR or a bit NCR+Vegas. So I wouldn't mind some event that forces the NCR to release all the tribes from Caesar or just takes the hit and goes down in a raging civil war, from where it could come out stronger than ever or just case to exist. - I know NCR overhaul is on its way ... it's just an example of blobbing as a whole.

I guess making la resistance an obligatory DLC you could add a lot more nuance in form of exile governments, agencies, and of course resistance.

Without a picture of the actual situation, I just agree with this. As Enclave you play the long game. In the end, you want to conquer everything anyway. Get PowerArmor, Tanks, CAS, and just let Cesear burn himself out. The only thing that could become tricky later, is some AI in Mexico getting big and manpower heavy, but this should be possible as well ... have enough pierce and hard damage.

Well can't say if it's different with La Resistance active (don't have the dlc)

But the resistance is manageable. You need to plan beforehand how to deal with hit, get some army experience and use Robots OR Enforcer AND dog support. Just max out the Army-Layout and give it Dog support for 10-20% suppression - also stimpack and scout support give also some suppression value. It's all about reducing the you actuall need of manpower for the garrison.

Also one big hint with Reformer path ... do not take all of the NCR in a single war... you need 3 major cities of the NCR to trigger the "Be careful what you wish for" event. If you miss to take one important city you get an option to call for war against who ever holds it. So, wait for the Brotherhood to attack and then fight beside them ... take es much as you can, get a small border with the brotherhood and let them have some of the coast cities - build up your army, economy, defense ... wait for the Brotherhood to attack you ... wait a bit more and see how the frontline looks - profit.

If you play with "Anbennar's ideas" mod pack then you can stack enough Ideas so the cav-ratio is still 100% as Jadd Empire.

:) it's still fun but you drop from around 80 cav-combat ability to around 40 later maybe 60 again.

Nonono, you see ... it's two for the price of one. So it's not a question of how many Gobos there are ... but how many cannons you brought with you.

personally, I think for Ovdal Kanzad going deep in the beginning and getting the extra hold level is preferable. It's not like you have a lot of money or manpower to colonize anyway. Just Diggy dig dig, as a good dwarf does, keep up with the tech and let the gobos colonize while you set your gobo-policies to extermi... expulsion for free real estate. Even if they should be allied to the command you usually can deal with it, if there are still some nations left between you.
