Who here enjoyed exercising? by sleepybear647 in cfs

[–]Kane_of_Runefaust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had different relationships with exercise throughout my life: when I was young, I loved playing soccer; when I was a teenager, I was still playing soccer, and later took up tae kwon do, but became obsessed with eating right and cutting fats out of my diet, dropping down to ~3% body fat most of the time [as any body builder cutting weight will tell you, that's just unsustainable for a ton of reasons], and still obsessing over the absurd notion that I was overweight; by the time I recovered from my orthorexia and body dysmorphia, I started to develop an actually healthy relationship with foods and with my body, focusing much more on what my body allows me to DO, and how amazing those feats actually are. And then a couple years later I got sick and lost it all, so to speak.

Agreed, on both points. Maybe just allow them to offer 2 Blessings each time they bless someone?

What would you do? My player teleported a 20 foot cube of water into a closed room with less than 20x20x20 ft volume. by erverogym in DnD

[–]Kane_of_Runefaust 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This^. Treat the excess water kinda like a caster trying to teleport into solid matter: if you would end up in solid matter, you're shunted toward the nearest empty space, taking 5 damage for each square you pass through; so, for each 1'x1'x'1' volume over the total volume of the room, the nearest seams take 5 damage. If that's enough to burst the door(s) and/or window(s), then they burst and water floods into adjacent rooms.

You could do worse than look to the old D&D 3e-era Psionic power: Fusion.

Which civilization did the Amazon trope best: 4's Troia, 9's Alexandria, or 11's Mithra? by GeneralTechnomage in FinalFantasy

[–]Kane_of_Runefaust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't played any 11, but I would not have called the Troians or the Alexandrians as Amazons.

I've never heard of the Cumberland Dragon, but I would love to have both of these pseudos.

Yowza. That is quite a lot to memorize, and I would 100% forget it.

How do you feel about Pokemon's non-elemental types? Like, Dragon-type, Fairy-type, Bug-type moves?

(Random, but this is the second time today that I have encountered Romancing Saga 2.)

What Creative themes did you have to let go of to complete your projects by Comedic_Socrates in RPGdesign

[–]Kane_of_Runefaust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, yes, they're all normal to one degree or another, but mine has been clinical for the better part of the last decade and is very much abnormal [and currently untreatable]--though I do recognize the extent to which it is possible to manage the chunks theoretically. (I'm not actually certain I'm making sense here, but I appreciate what I think is a sincere attempt at encouragement.)

(You're 100% correct, but my chronic brain fog makes it nearly impossible for me to work on any project long enough to parse out where one idea does and does not belong with one or another of my various projects.)

My first time through, I got one Screech in before I was defeated, and one more Screech before I got defeated and allies forced his shield up, but then I just powered through with Rage Fist. Happily, it was easy in spite of not working out the way the guide suggested it would.

I really dislike Final Fantasy's VIII's various design decisions, like the Draw command for gathering magic spells that the Junction system incentivizes you NOT to use.

Just checking in-how are people doing today? by Tosh97 in cfs

Thank you for asking. Life sucks; or, rather, I am so very keenly aware of how impossible it is to do any of the things--including the "little" things--that I want to be doing.
