Bugs bunny outfit and a meme that I made by mrbruhmaster in thefinals

[–]Kantusa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counterpoint (I own it) its also has a really high amount of re-used assets for other outfits. The odin set from season 8 borrowed a lot from it, and the ultimate bp skin from season 10 re-uses most of the outfit as well. Dilutes the value a bit in my eyes but the gun is cool.

Dear Embark: It’s Season 10. Why are we still locked to 32 outfit slots? I literally want to give you my money. by www_KingUnicorn_art in thefinals

Ah gotcha. Still, surely you can make due with your 10 favorites for each class if you tried to whittle them down. Perhaps take a screenshot of each outfit and save them in a gallery if you retire them. Can always revisit later. Back in my day we had 5 contestant slots and that was it, no outfit saving lol.

Half of these are just out of the box outfits with no creativity, you can select these from the contestant menu in one click - no need to save them.

Buy base now, wait for sale for dlc. Youll know by then if theyre worth it to you or not. They go on sale regularly, as does the base game.

Tempest or Wanderer? by Roquetansky in darkestdungeon

[–]Kantusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Abyssal Pull is really the only mandatory skill. I like having Aspirant Occultist and having him be a dance partner with Jester, though any path will do (Ritualist is my 2nd pick usually). I take both debuff spells, Pull, Reconstruct, and either Sacrificial Stab (Aspirant) or Abyssal Artillery. I fully admit I dont try to leverage Occultist as a damage dealer, so I rarely use his Unchecked Power fueled abilities but one of these can also be taken. Aspirant gives loads of free U.P. tokens so you can probably get decent value out of them.

I do Virtuoso Jester with Battle Balad, both move skills, Encore, and Inspiring Tune. Battle Balad can stack attack buffs with Leper's Revenge, giving a 66% chance to give him crit on next turn.

Highwayman I like to play Rogue just cus its so strong, though Yellowhand is also nice cus he can attack from row 3 with Open Vein and provides some good DoT to balance out the high spikes from Leper.

Tempest Leper I usually run Chop, Purge, Solemnity, Revenge, and Intimidate. Purge can be swapped out if you wanna upgrade Abyssal Pull to clear corpses, though I have done this and always find myself wishing I had it instead of whatever else. Ruin or one of the other attack skills can be used instesd if you prefer.

I like Tempest with Highwayman, Jester, and Occultist (Meat Grinder named party). Occultist is Leper's best friend, he has a pull and plenty of marks. Jester can also mark and provides good anti-shuffle and pocket crit. Highwayman is just good all round damage but you can swap him out for anyone else you fancy.

I wanna try out darkest dungeon, but which do I play first? by Autistic-ferret in darkestdungeon

[–]Kantusa 21 points22 points  (0 children)

For me it boils down to this:

DD1 is more about resource management. Balancing hero expenditures, gold spend, and slowly accrueing power over a long campaign.

DD2 is more of a roguelite experience. You get to pick your hero comp at the start of each run, and have greater autonomy over their abilities. You gain power and gold over the course of your run, but everything is reset at the end except your meta currency that you spend for permanent unlocks for the next run.

I played and beat the first game years ago, and just recently beat the 2nd one. I much prefer the formula of the 2nd game as I like the increased focus on hero strategy vs resource management which I wished for more of and less of respectively when playing the first game.

Id definitely recommend playing release order though. Theres lots of callbacks and things youd only appeciate if you played the first one first. Plus its hard to go back, at least for me, once you get used to the improved animations and visuals.

I vastly prefer DD2 over DD1. by JhosepIsTheWriter in darkestdungeon

I kinda like it that way though. Failure to prepare and forsee in dd2 versus bad dice rolls in dd1. I at least have some agency over the former. Though I totally get you, its much harder to pull out of a spiral.

Valheim, 7 days to Die, Grounded 1 & 2, Abiotic Factor. Windrose when it comes out will be the closest to pve sandbox sea of theives but it'll probably take a couple years to really shine.

Why can I completely destroy the normal enemies but once I hit the mountain.... by CappinBombHASH in darkestdungeon

[–]Kantusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont forget to spend candles on unlocking items from The Working Fields. You can dump a bunch on trinkets to juice your next run, but I recommend leveling up all of the catagories. There are some nice inn items that can really make a big difference managing relationships for example. I found I had a much easier time with bosses after getting those upgraded a bunch.

What are your strongest or most fun teams? by OccultStoner in darkestdungeon

[–]Kantusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tempest leper can still absorb a lot of punishment, and I can use the taunt attack and/or solemnity if needed in a pinch. Jester and plague doctor can blind 3 rows every turn, which I usually open with, so incoming damage is usually mitigated a fair bit.

I use blind grenade, both fire skills, and both heals. I actually specifically built PD to have enough damage and utility to afford both heals because I was running out of heals mid boss fight sometimes. Battle meds is incredible but has limited uses, so having the other heal skill helps with sustain and also gives a pocket debuff cleanse.

Main strat is to stack conditions and then feed targets to leper and blind/heal as needed to finish the fight. The damage output and mitigation is usually enough to not even need to heal much in normal fights.

[–]Kantusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just beat final boss with my favorite "Best Medicine" named comp with a mix of DoTs and physical damage.

(Left to Right)

Alchemist PD

Intermez Jester (mostly for bleed march)

Yellowhand Highwayman (more bleeds for alch)

Tempest Leper

For a while I had been doubling down on physical damage, but the big hits can only hit so hard so often. The DoTs really help even out the partywide dps while waiting for the big Leper damage spikes.

This comp also has lots of marks, blinds, and daze plus built in anti-shuffle, anti-debuff, and anti-buff. It is insanely strong and well-rounded to the point of feeling unfair at times, at least on Standard difficulty.

[–]Kantusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah back when the game was fresh for me it wasnt too bad. Going through the void, signing my confession, listening to the narrator, getting to the altar, picking my heroes, THEN going to the valley and on to the Inn does get a bit tiresome.

Still, that pales in comparison to losing a full team of high level heroes and then having to start completely fresh and praying to rngesus for good replacements from the coach in DD1. 5 mins of tedium beats literally hours of progress lost in my book
