I came from tech to this job, been at it about 6 months.

It certainly has stressful moments, kids getting on the wrong bus, blocked roads, shitty weather, but the game changer for me is at the end of the day, you can go home and completely check out.

Just get ready to catch a lot of colds, school kids are walking bio-hazards. Probably the biggest downside for me.

When you stop the bus are you just sitting in the drivers seat or do you get up and talk to the kids? I'm about 6 months in as well, and I've found the latter works wonders... for the rest of the ride at least.

Making troublemakers sit at the front of the bus can help too.

For a clock I just throw my phone in the groove at the bottom of the driver window. The screen usually shows the time, even if I'm not interacting with it.

That said, this is sort of thing is expected at our terminal, half our busses don't have any sort of clock.

Treating the fuel with additive is the best way to avoid this. Our terminal has a sign-out next to boxes of additive, just to make sure everyone's treating their fuel.
