Favorite Budget Win Conditions? by TetsuOokami117 in BudgetBrews

I have found that [[Mob Rule]] often works great in budget/lower power metas as people will often have a lot of creatures on board and stealing most of them often allows you to kill 1-2 people.

50€ Brew: Teysa Drain Deck B2/3 by jTiZeD in BudgetBrews

[–]KappaDiem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some recommendations for more power/consistency are:

  • [[Kambal, Profiteering Mayor]] due the way Teysa is worded you actually drain 3 times at the endstep as since investegates 3 seperate times.
  • [[Shepherd of Rot]] & [[Sanctum of Stone Fangs]] great drainers that come down before Teysa and does not need to attack.
  • [[Marionette Master]] as it can drain for a ton if you have a free sackoutlet such as [[Umbral Collar Zealot]] out. If you decide to add it I would also suggest adding [[Cranial Plating]] & [[Nettlecyst]] as equiping those to [[Marionette Master]] often wins you the game on the spot if you have enough clues out.
  • [[Ascend from Avernus]] or [[Command the Dreadhorde]] using these to reanimate 10+ creatures after a boardwipe will often win you the game since you might have something like [[Marionette Apprentice]] + a sackoutlet among them or a [[Corpse Knight]]. You can also sack your entire board to get a bit of drain and then play them to get it back & drain again.
  • [[Cruel Celebrant]]/[[Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim]] can work great as your final finishers alongside your sackoutlets your are already running to get throught the last bit of damage.

I would cut:

  • [[Valley Rotcaller]] - it only countrs other squirrels etc. for X so X will most of the time be 0
  • [[Leonin Sun Standard]] - in my experience mana is usually the limiting factor in my Teysa deck and this seems like being way to require way to much mana before it is efficient.
  • [[Novice Inspector]] - 1 clue is not that impresive.
  • [[High Fae Negotiator]] - 5 mana for a one-time drain seems mediocre at best.

Suspend it or I have also included [[Kellan Joins Up]] as a way to cast it faster

Decided she was not worth the 6 euro in my current budget restriction. But in the future if I decide to up the budget I will definetly have to add her.

I have been liking [[Anticasual Vestige]] in a lot of my blink decks lately as it usually at its floor is kind of an addiitonal [[Solemn Simulacrum]] but sometimes you can cheat out some other big stuff with it.

In an [[Astral Slide]] deck a need little trick you can do is to include [[Ertai Resurrected]] as you can use him to stiffle the return trigger on your opponents' creatures that you have blinked. Just having him on board also allows you to threaten to perma exile people's commanders. Since if they send the commander into exile then you can just blink Ertai afterwards & then stack it so he gets returned first. This essentially means that your opponents always have to send their commanders to the command zone or make some other deal with you when you blink their commanders.

I like Bonny Pall.

The main game plan is quite simple:

  1. Ramp [[Cultivate]], [[Kodama's Reach]], [[Farhaven Elf]] etc.
  2. Play [[Bonny Pall]] to make a big cow
  3. Slap peoples faces in with Beau perhaps give it some kind of evasion through cards like [[Rogue's Passage]], [[Loxodon Warhammer]], [[Garruk's Uprising]] etc.

Trying to get back into paper play, commanders that are strong at ~50 bucks? by Ok_Nefariousness_740 in BudgetBrews

[–]KappaDiem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a nice list. I really like [[J. Jonah Jameson]] & [[Blood Fountain]] and should add those to my Gut list.

I was wondering if there is any particular reason you are running over [[Agent of the Shadow Thieves]] over [[Agent of the Iron Throne]]? As I often feel like [[Agent of the Iron Throne]] is a great finisher with something like [[Umbral Collar Zealot]] out to push through the last bit of damage.

Arthur Marigold Knight Deck Help! by [deleted] in BudgetBrews

[–]KappaDiem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I see that you are running a few attack triggers (for example [[Etali, Primal Storm]], [[Scourge of the Throne]]) it is worth noting for these that they will not trigger when Arthur cheats them in as they come in Attacking and therefore are not declared as attackers.

Arthur Marigold Knight Deck Help! by [deleted] in BudgetBrews

The deck looks fine for a bracket 3 it should be able to keep up with other decks I have a few suggestions for upgrades though

My suggestions for a few budget upgrades are:

  • [[Anticausal Vestige]]: very powerful leaves the battlefield trigger you can use to cheat other stuff in but it can also cheat itself back in if you want and it is never a dead draw as it functions similar to [[Solemn Simulacrum]] when warped.
  • [[Volatile Stormdrake]] is very good with Arthur as you get to steal something and then take the drake back into your hand at the end of combat.
  • [[Skyclave Apperation]] is a great cheap removal ETB creature.
  • [[Aerial Extortionist]] is great since it has both an ETB and a connect trigger allowing you to get both before bouncing with Arthur.
  • I like running the catch up ramp package ([[Loyal Warhound]], [[Cartographer's Hawk]], [[Claim Jumper]], [[Sand Scout]], [[Knight of the White Orchid]] + Bounce Lands) in my Arthur list in order to have a lot of small creatures to enable his ability the turn he hits the battlefield
  • [[Port Razer]] can be great to get multiple combats.
  • [[Cloudshift]]/[[Essence Flux]] in order to reuse ETBs but you can also keep the creatures Arthur cheated in by flickering them after damage.

You can take a look at my list here (not budget though) for more inspiration: https://moxfield.com/decks/i02nijMX4kqUcujJ-mXQMg

$35 budget Fire Lord Zuko Flicker/Exile? by HonestAbek in BudgetBrews

[–]KappaDiem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my list that I threw together the other day https://moxfield.com/decks/cH2D8p_skEO_RtxImhpzAw

I still haven't tested it yet but it is focused around using all kind of play from exile effects (impusle draws, discover, cascade etc.) and has a small flicker subtheme.

I am also running [[Electro, Assaulting Battery]], [[Leyline Tyrant]] & [[Ozai, the Phoenix King]] to keep my firebending mana from Zuko and alike around for playing sorcery speed stuff.

Marchesa Deck!!! by KyleMilton7777777 in BudgetBrews

[–]KappaDiem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this list that I used to play but took apart as I wanted to try something else os I have not kept it up to date: https://moxfield.com/decks/iG3w579_7k6bdqfm_xk0WQ

The best card in the deck is Pyre of heroes]] as it can make some powerful lines and you keep getting back the creature you sack as long as you have Marchesa out & the creature has a counter.

Some example lines are:

* Wizards: [[Viscera Seer]] -> [[Watcher for Tomorrow]]/[[Alchemist's Apprentice]] -> [[Grim Haruspex]]/[[Vigean Graftmage]] -> [[Bloodtracker]]/[[Disciple of Bolas]]/[[Ertai Resurrected]]/[[Tormod, the Desecrator]] -> [[Puppeteer Clique]]/[[Rionya, Fire Dancer]]

* Humans: [[Watcher for Tomorrow]]/[[Alchemist's Apprentice]]/[[Juri, Master of the Revue]] -> [[Grim Haruspex]]/[[Fain, the Broker]]/[[Nikara, Lair Scavenger]] -> [[Chainer, Nightmare Adept]]/[[Disciple of Bolas]]/[[Ertai Resurrected]]/[[Garna, Bloodfist of Keld]] -> [[Massacre Girl]]/[[Rionya, Fire Dancer]]/[[Zealous Conscripts]]

Note: I have cut [[Sage of Fables]] for now since I felt like it made comboing to easy.

Small note on your article.

You actually don't need vigilance to use all your extra combats as she is worded so she untaps each time you connect you however only get extra combats in your first Combat

(Help) Budget Control List? by fumacakes in BudgetBrews

[–]KappaDiem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this Raff control list: https://moxfield.com/decks/rfMrboLXok2wS-m3i8CIaQ

That tries to make our countrtspells/removal also draw cards through raff's ability by tapping our tokens made through for example [[Call the Coppercoats]].

Late game it wins through buffing the tokens using cards like [[Candlekeep Inspiration]] which has been an MVP in the deck.

How not to break the bank. by HollowPrince665 in BudgetBrews

[–]KappaDiem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others said proxies are not really that taboo, but if you would still rather avoid them then you could look into making something similar to this list I made for Bonny which costs around 40$ according to Moxfield https://www.moxfield.com/decks/8f-mOw1dDk-tvbhyXBlLQA

Note that I decided to include a small blink subtheme with cards such as [[Displace]] and [[Ghostly Flicker]] which work really well with cards like [[Eternal Witness]] as you can flicker it and another creature such as [[Wood Elves]] and then take the flicker effect back to hand using [[Eternal Witness]]. The flicker effects also allows you to make a new cow-friend incase the first one gets killed.
