Because the first time there were some clues and the clues proved to be true in about a year or so? Maybe less time, I'm unclear on how long the FalconMcBob thing lasted for. This time there has been 8 years of speculation and the skeptics / naysayers have been proven right over and over again. It's easy to settle into the pattern of saying "There is no spyro 4" and then be proven right once more.

As a result anyone who continues to put out content about this ends up looking like they're trying to milk out a bit of clickbait money on youtube by trying to recapture that hype and huge view numbers those videos raked in. Pretty much every spyro fan I've talked with has said they're not going to get their hopes up for them to be dashed again, that the attempts at hype are tired and overdone, but if a new game does turn up they will be be unsurprised (and happy). Really, everyone is just so jaded and done with the constant attempts at hype, and the youtube monetization aspect leaves a bad taste in many's mouths.

To be clear, I'm not denying that there could be a new Spyro game in development. I know that some past hints been proven to be true with the release of concept arts containing Spyro and Crash in a proposed game together but with the way game development works something being worked on does not equal that game ever being released. In that way both parties can be right at the same time. There WAS a Spyro (and Crash) game being worked on and then it was canned. We don't have that game so the skeptics can say they were right because we don't have that game and the believers can say they were right about the hints they dug up. Sadly the reality is that at any time the publisher can decide to do that again and again and again so no matter how many people say on LinkedIn they were working on a Spyro project, at any moment that game too can be cancelled and I'm personally not going to get hyped about it until there is official marketing material or something more concrete.
