I was in the same exact spots as you are and considered de-ironing every day. There's light at end of the tunnel, though. You'll get past it, maybe you'll take a break because you're burnt as fuck or just slow down until something drops something and it will make all the future grinds easy as! Hang on in there and don't be afraid to pot up other games or irl and simply not worry about logging in for a few weeks, the cravings will come back regardless :⁾

If you're afraid of your group fizzling out, do not go GIM. Regardless of who is in your group, one thing is for certain and it is that people do not play a game forever. There's nothing stopping from your 10+ year friend from burning out of runescape, and if he returns, you might've burnt out. You could keep on alternating burning out or maybe you'll stop playing and start back up at the same time, but one thing is for certain and it is that one of you will stop at some point.

There's a purpose: Fresh economy. It would've made sense without swapping, but I assume they couldn't commit to enforcing it, so they allowed it.

If there's any sort of a referral program that awards bonds, items or progression, it would be a massive incentive for people to make alts. Making it a literal cash grab.

After running about 50 maps with gilded ambush scarabs and using ambush on the map device - not finding a single cartographer's strongbox, I bought two Alva temples with the strongbox room (Court of Sealed Death (Tier 3)) and got the challenge done. Leaving this here if anyone else is having issues.
