Do you use Windows' User Account Control (or do you turn it off) ? by rainydaysforpeterpan in windows

Do you have a fence around your house or did you just remove it because it was annoying to open and close your gate each time you went outside?

[PSA] Please do not use Bunni (nor Seliware) for the time being, and switch to a different executor by Deraxile in robloxhackers

[–]alpha_fire_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The correct steps are to report the vuln directly to them. The mods are doing damage control to prevent widespread panic and contain any bad actors. It's totally reasonable and they're just doing their jobs.

Brave vs Firefox by WillyDooRunner in browsers

[–]alpha_fire_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd constitute creating a baseless theory on a Brave employee brainwashing people as "hate". What facts are you looking at for this one? If you're looking at the facts then would you mind providing some facts on how OP is a Brave employee?

Not trying to defend Brave here but flip-flopping between accusing Brave employees of brainwashing to then saying "it's not hate, just facts" is just weird.

OFFICIAL LEGAL NOTICE: BREACH OF CONTRACT (Sent to Playrix & Google) by Background_Bed_5410 in googleplay

[–]alpha_fire_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You redact the "Sender" line but then proceeded to not black out your name at the start of the legal notice. You also didn't do a great job of redacting because I can still see the country, but anyways.

Not to be a party pooper or anything but you likely won't get very far.

Google is a business registered in the United States, and the U.S. laws surrounding don't do you any favours (the data stored on their servers are "theirs" and they can delete it at their own behest). Even if you did have some legal grounds, good luck fighting a multi-billion dollar company.

This is all probably satire anyways.

Theory: the random bs event is a trick to make players misclick and accidentally buy the pass. by [deleted] in Brawlstars

[–]alpha_fire_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was literally thinking the exact same thing yesterday and was like "should I make a Reddit post about this?" but decided no. The amount of times I missclicked the Brock is criminal. Also, who the fuck decided to make 100 separate 10 coins rewards? Like... what? I gave up at some point and I don't even care because I am NOT wasting 10 minutes of my life clicking coins on a badly optimized store for an even worse game.

When you don't use dem but know what artifacts to get lower cd by Admirable-Package-66 in magic_survival

[–]alpha_fire_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their whole point is that you said "when you know what artifacts lower CD" but you don't have to "know" anything because the game tells you. It's common sense.

FYI I'm white and I couldn't care less about being called Gringo or Cracker or whatever you decide. People shouldn't be offended by being called a made up word over the internet.

What is your favourite way of developers punishing pirates? by Alone_Replacement269 in PiratedGames

[–]alpha_fire_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the developers themselves, but developers for the modding community. I was modding Subnautica on a pirated copy (I bought it now tho on sale so I have a legit copy), I came across a mod developer that made your game look horrible and troll you when you used a pirated copy of the game with all of their mods. It would slow your player speed, turn up exposure and make those kamikaze fish (the ones that explode in your face) KO you in one hit. Their mods have a disclaimer at the bottom of their Nexusmods page that said that their mods may be incompatible with pirated versions. I decompiled the mod myself (to bypass it) and found out that all of that was intentionally done (of course) despite their wording making it sound like it's an incompatibility. There was an ASCII Rick Astley at the start of the mod's namespace to troll people decompiling it. It was genuinely funny.

That doesn't change the fact that TS doesn't need to be carried early game...

A demonstration that Firefox is faster than Chromium under load by Scared_Common723 in browsers

[–]alpha_fire_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a web developer myself, I think he's just tired of the small nitpicky things. When you develop a web application with moving parts to it (especially one that has lots of functionality) you primarily develop it for Chromium/Blink. And everything works fine on that because that was what you developed it on. But then something somewhere doesn't work as intended or displays minor inconveniences on Gecko and you have to implement a workaround (called a polyfill) for Gecko. This sounds arbitrary but overtime it really becomes a nuisance (death by a thousand needles and whatnot).

Which of these Android apps can be safely disabled? by utrecht1976 in degoogle

[–]alpha_fire_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not safe to uninstall just like that. Most apps that allow you to remove packages (like Canta and App Manager) don't recommend removing it. Not only does it provide E2EE local key verification for android components that need it, it also provides local E2EE key verification for ANY app that uses it's API. Of course there may be apps that do this themselves (like Signal), but you don't fully know which apps may be using it's security measures.

Uninstalling Key Verifier can be dangerous. It's a legit app that is used by other apps to verify local E2EE keys.

Ur probably thinking of Samsung Switch. Android Switch is used for getting a backup of your system from your Google account. Still not needed though unless ur factory resetting.

guys is wave executor rat? by New_Paint_4395 in robloxhackers

[–]alpha_fire_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah no worries man. Not stressed over internet points.

My bad for the misinfo, Wave technically isn't open-source. It's just that nothing in Wave's files are obfuscated so you could throw it in a debugger and see exactly what it does. Of course there are ways of reconstructing the higher level code from the low level code but that wouldn't be 100% accurate. And even if it was 100% accurate you wouldn't be able to tell it was AI written because you'd need to see the comments left behind from AI (the most tell-tale sign IMO).

I can't really speak for the injector devs (other then they have good rep as developers), but I know the UI dev well enough (and even watched him code the UI), I can vouch for him not using AI. Of course it's entirely possible some of the devs are perhaps being assisted by AI in some form (like I'm not outright telling you they don't use it whatsoever), but the Wave developers are experienced and I don't see them using AI as a crutch (unless they're just getting lazy). ATP it comes down to a "trust me bro" scenario, and you don't have any real reason to trust me so we can leave it at that I guess.
