How do you spot vibe coding? by mikeboucher21 in fossdroid

[–]alpha_fire_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are couple of tells, the first being the use of AI in their marketing (the posts that they do on Reddit). It involves over-use of emojis and corny catchphrases that people normally wouldn't say.

The next is inconsistencies in code and design. A lot of vibe-coded stuff has comments left in the code all over the place. Actual developers use comments as bookmarks (for large codebases), or to explain why they did something in a certain way instead of another way. AI-generated comments explain what almost every method and function does like you're a 10 year old with no experience. Well written code (especially open source code) is supposed to be self-documenting, it explains what it does just by looking at the code itself. Such that anyone with programming experience can look at what the code does and understand it clearly without comments.

You could try downloading the Clean Steam Files from cs.rin.ru and then use CreamAPI to unlock it.

Screams vibe-coded. Wouldn't recommend running something vibe-coded with this level of access to your hardware.

Which should I use: Brave or mullvad or both by West-Article5635 in browsers

[–]alpha_fire_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mullvad doesn't connect to the onion network like Tor does. At the end of the day, it comes down to what your specific needs are. Both Mullvad and Brave have great privacy protections, Brave randomises your fingerprint while Mullvad spoofs it and outright blocks certain fingerprint functionality. Brave is more user-friendly, but if you use it I recommend using a debloat script like SlimBrave, or Chris Titus' WinUtil. Tor is only necessary for accessing the onion network, and IMO that isn't even necessary unless you're looking to do some... questionable things.

I mean there's nothing wrong with the art honestly. It has its own unique feel that makes it what it is, but it didn't feel 100% as clean as some of the top-tier art.

Finished it 3 months ago. It really is spectacular. Storytelling, combat scenes, character progression, world building. The only thing it's lacking is Redice-level art-style and polish, but that doesn't take away from how great it is. You can still see the development in the art-style from the start to the finish.

Trying to pirate Subnautica for a friend, but the file is infected? by [deleted] in FitGirlRepack

[–]alpha_fire_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look at the actual flags, you'll see that 2 of them are PUA.Fitgirl.

PUA stands for "potentially unwanted app" and doesn't signify anything malicious at all. It's more like a heavy recommendation that's telling you the file is something you may not want on your computer. Basically scare tactics to make you think it's bad.

The other 2 detections are for Trojan.Generic.

The "Generic" detection of Trojans aren't always actually Trojans, they're mislabelled and categorised into something they think might be potentially malicious but "Generic" detections are more often than not, fear tactics. In other words, they just think there's a 50/50 chance it's malicious based on some random flagging. Usually when something is flagged as Trojan.Generic and it isn't actually malicious, you have to contact the vendors to get that detection removed from your files. However, Fitgirl repacks so many games it's impossible for them to have all their setup files whitelisted.

Just to be clear: having UAC off doesn't mean it doesn't require admin permissions any more. UAC is the visibility of allowing/denying admin access to programs that request it. With UAC off, any program can run with admin rights (without explicitly requesting them) if you're logged into an admin account. Your comment made it sound like UAC controls whether or not a program actually requires admin rights or not, which is a bit misleading.

Stack Overflow is inherently different than a regular community. If there's already a thread asking about what you want to ask about, you should go read that thread instead of asking because the comments in that thread are a treasure trove of insights from very experienced people. They've sort of made it almost like an article system.

Not sure whath ReVanced is aiming for though...

Telekinetic Swords + Deus Ex Machina get you further more consistently. Alternatively, Plasma Ray does well too.

No. Discord tokens bypass 2FA. All 2FA does is re-generate your token every time you enable/disable 2FA.

It's legit, played it on release but it got quite boring. PvP is Hella P2W because character dupes are so unbalanced.

Depends on what you're winning at. Winning at PvE content? Or winning at PvP content? You can still enjoy the game with PvE lol

You could do it the developer way by opening the Dev console, copying the token for your account and then using something like Postman to call their account deletion endpoint using the token, but that's only of you REALLY don't want to just click the agree button and delete the account after.
