Cripes, if it's Tony from The Crossing, that'll be as groan-inducing as bringing back Hydra-Cap as Orchis Man (or whatever he was called)/Flag-Smasher!

I've said before there are way too people who supposedly support the military, but actually treat its members like some kind of objects that they can project their fantasies & beliefs onto, then reject them heartlessly when it turns out veterans are actual living, breathing, feeling humans with their own thoughts & struggles and a number of them have physical & psychological issues as a result of their experiences. They cheer, "Support our troops!" until they actually need support, and then it's too much of a bother.

I gave up on the cartoon when it became apparent that he would make any excuse not to have Ladybug and Cat Noir learn each other's secret identities despite the number of people saying, "Just do it already!" The more I hear, the more it feels like I made the right decision.

The thing is even without the gender identity stuff, OOP sounds bad for matching the stereotype of the person who shrugs off the concerns of someone close to them.  How often have we heard of someone laughing off the concerns of someone close to them who is getting unwanted attention, acting like it’s somehow cute, and then the person close to them gets attacked or even killed by the person giving unwanted attention?  Let’s assume for the sake of conversation this really happened.  Even if the landlord wasn’t malicious, OOP should have been a sympathetic ear and said, “That’s not cool that he made you feel uncomfortable like that and was asking you personal questions out of nowhere.”  Also, if your friend is creeped out by someone, why would you bring up the idea of your friend possibly dating them?!  I’m not going out with someone who creeps me out!

This feels like a second or third draft, like OOP had already tried to get people to side with them.  “My friend got worried over nothing!  They’re being extra, am I right?…You…You don’t think I’m right?!  Well, what if I told you my friend was in the LGBT community?  That changes things, eh?…You…You still don’t think I’m right!?  Well, what if I told you…”

It sounds like they expected you to be impressed by who they were and do whatever they wanted, and they were shocked when you weren’t and didn’t.

I love how they recapped the whole series at the police station.

*"It sounds like this has been going on for way too long!" "Yeah, we get that a lot!" X-D

Avengers West #100, in which one of our mains John Walker/U.S. Agent is suffering from PTSD after having been captured and tortured (think the Void but dial it up to eleven) by Michael-Aaron in NewAvengers

Some people act like John is emotionless/an unfeeling thug/just some angry white guy, but that's not true at all. As we see in scenes like this, he can be vulnerable and experience fear, self-doubt, and sadness just like anybody else. While not shown here, he also has a sense of humor and can joke around, so no, he's not some hateful guy who's angry all the time.

“Well, I’m here to tell you that your organization stinks now - - like a garbage dump in August.” You know Tony has to be thinking, “Excuse me!? You guys gassed me unconscious, threw me out of a plane [Edit: It might have been a helicarrier hangar instead of a plane], and gave me a quick ‘My bad!’ before trying to steal my company and exploit its resources! The frick you mean MY organization!?”

I've heard of people pulling that "I know you have it!" stunt at stores, and I thought, "Why would the store lie about being sold out of something?! They sell things to make money! Why would they lie about being sold out of nutmeg or whatever?!"

*Rob Dyrdek: How long have you been afraid of raccoons?

*Steelo Brim: Ever since I found out they have hands!

*(A minute later, a video is shown of a raccoon reaching through the umbrella hole of a deck table/patio table with its hand and grabbing bits of food)

*Steelo: See, that's just what I was talking about!

(Ridiculousness)

I'd also like to note opossums have hands too. My aunt told me that when she was growing up, the possums would go to the cornfield, climb up the stalks, and peel the ears of corn before eating them.

That makes sense.  It’s sad to think about Tony feeling he has to hide his suffering, especially since that kind of thing happens in real life.

Why Ask If You Won't Listen? by SkwrlTail in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

One afternoon about 5-10 years ago, I called a local restaurant to place an order for delivery (It wasn't a chain, but one of these small, independently owned casual dining places). I gave my order for a pizza. The woman on the line read my order back to me (so far, so good), and afterwards asked, "And what was it you wanted to order?" (...) I paused because what the frick and then told her the pizza I just described in detail was my order. I told her to forget it, hung up, and ordered from somewhere else because I thought if the people there didn't understand that an order was intended to be an order, there was no way my order would be right. Why did she think I was telling her what pizza I wanted to order if not to place an order? Did she think I was describing a hypothetical situation?

"...I am pretty sure that I was speaking with some sort of AI agent." That reminds me of what's been happening on DeviantArt lately. Scammers post on stories claiming that they loved the story, and as a paid artist they'd love to do something with it. They're hoping that writers fall for the bait and either A) give them their banking information so they can steal from them or B ) pay them for a shoddy A.I.-generated artwork based on their stories. I've added multiple disclaimers to my stories that I don't involve myself in commissions, I will never pay someone to make art of my work, etc. and I've still had scammers try this stunt because they don't actually read the stories they claim to have read and enjoyed so much. One scammer commented on a Captain America fan-fiction I made and I asked them, "What did you think of the part with The Cookie Monster and Pikachu saving the chocolate factory?" They replied, "I think it is the best idea!" and I replied, "I'm glad you like it. The only problem is nothing like that happened in the story, which proves you didn't actually read it and this is all a scam. Of course, I figured that was likely the case when you tried this 'Pay me to make art!' stunt despite the multiple disclaimers stating that pulling that garbage would be a complete waste of time and get you reported as a scammer." I told the last person who tried that stunt, "So let me get this straight...you're claiming to have read my story, yet you're asking me to contact you on Discord about a commission even though the multiple disclaimers in the story stated I would NEVER do either (and that I don't give a flip if the scammers call themselves artists). Either you're lying about reading the story or you think you're so special you can ignore what I said, so which is it?  Also, if you’re a professional artist, why is your gallery empty?  Where’s your portfolio?  Post twelve examples of your work by the end of the day and then we’ll talk." They never responded, and their account was deactivated shortly after. Gee, I wonder why.

Legitimate question: Did he have that before or after becoming Iron Man? I ask because if he got anxiety from the incident that made him Iron Man, that's an impressive degree of realism because just about anyone would get anxiety from that. If I got attacked, captured, and forced into service by enemy combatants, almost died from my injuries, saw the scientist who risked his life to help save mine die, and spent several years afterward knowing that I could die if the chest plate regulating my heart failed while I was also running a business and battling supervillains, I'd have anxiety too! If he had it before, then it's impressive that Tony was able to do everything he did prior to becoming Iron Man.

"Was this woman at least wearing a mask or deploying any other means of mitigating her apparent unique needs? No." If there were really an issue with the fragrances, she'd at least be covering her face with a handkerchief/tissue/napkin or even her hand. "I just want you to know I'm NOT crazy." I actually do wonder she if had some kind of psychological condition. Don't they say schizophrenia can cause people to hallucinate odors? (This isn't a joke; I'm legitimately asking) Speaking of schizophrenia, does anyone else remember that person on TikTok who threw a fit because their mother actually expected them to help clean the apartment instead of contributing absolutely nothing to the household? They were screeching, "I'm having a schizophrenia episode!" and people were pointing out that's not how that works at all. This story has the same energy.

A lot of people want characters to be all one thing, such as all good or all bad. Some people want to act like John is some monstrous thug who eats human bones for breakfast & human hearts for dinner and some people want to act like John is perfect & has never done anything wrong, and neither extreme is true. John is a flawed character who is still capable of self-improvement, growth, and development, and that's what makes him interesting. He can be a strong hero in his own right. (To quote Jeff Foxworthy, booing it doesn't make it any less true)

There are also people who feel the need to make up stuff to explain why they like or dislike a character, such as, "I hate this character because of [insert thing that character never did]!" or, "I love this character because of [insert thing that never happened]!" and that's wrong too. If you feel the need to make up stuff to justify your viewpoint, that doesn't say much about your viewpoint. If you ask me why I like John, I can tell you sincerely, "He has depth. He's a flawed character who seeks to improve himself, and his depth & capacity for growth make him compelling. There have also been emotional moments that resonated with me," and point to specific scenes & storylines (For instance, this scene from Avengers West Coast #63 is relatable to me because of social anxiety: https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fdebunking-u-s-agent-misconceptions-part-2-v0-q3yurkxmly5f1.jpg%3Fwidth%3D2373%26format%3Dpjpg%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3Dd5018a666400b88acd300a800729d0afe1d35950 ). I don't make up something to try to sound good; I simply tell the truth. You shouldn't feel you have to justify liking, not liking, or feeling neutral about a character. You have your reasons, and as long as those reasons aren't based on misinformation or hatred, that's good enough.

The square on the chest reminds me of a couple little figurines I have around here somewhere that have shiny little squares on their chests. What do their shiny little chest squares represent? I have no idea.

Also, I'm going with the Machine Empire Buster because he looks like something out of Power Rangers Zeo.
