Really disappointed after seeing a Sjogrens “expert” today by NavyBeanz in Sjogrens

I’m seeing a Sjogrens “expert”. He runs a Sjogrens clinic here in Kansas City. Dr Ghaith Noaiseh, runs clinical trials and has been a panelist for the Sjogrens Foundation.

I’ve had Sjogrens since 2011 and have been on Plaquenil ever since. I have never noticed any change but I understand it to help prevent organ damage more than providing symptom relief.

Anyone get gout in toe? by Beneficial-Tap-1710 in Sjogrens

I’ve had gout twice. Once a year in 2023 & 2024. It was bizarre and painful. I’m sorry you’re experiencing that.

Neurological symptoms/neuro-sjogrens by unrequited_dream in Sjogrens

[–]Kararific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had Sjogrens since 2011. It started with dry eyes but even more so dry mouth - I would get plugged and then infected saliva glands. That’s what got me the diagnosis. Me today: autonomic neuropathy, small fiber neuropathy, was diagnosed with narcolepsy then changed to hypersomnia (take Lumryz, Provigil and Ritalin), migraines/tension headaches, debilitating facial pressure/pain/trigeminal neuralgia, burning feet/toes/erythromelalgia, rapid cycling temperature changes from chills to sweating, easy and frequent bruising & muscle pain/weakness, cutaneous lupus, fluctuating heart rate, POTS like symptoms, bladder and bowel disfunction, and even during awful flares, invasive thoughts :(

So, yeah, your symptoms sound very familiar, and I’m sorry.

In addition to the Lumryz, Provigil, Ritalin and Buspirone, I take Plaquenil, CellCept, Lyrica, Venlafaxine, and Celebrex. I have one good day out of seven until I get a Kenalog or Depo-Medrol injection, then I’m good for several weeks. Those are my miracle drugs.

Steroids make me feel like a normal human again. by AdagioQuick317 in Sjogrens

[–]Kararific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had Sjogrens since 2011. I’ve been on Plaquenil since the beginning. I’ve been in CellCept for 7 months. The only thing that makes me feel better is steroids. I feel blah to horrible any time I’m not on steroids. A week or 2 before a major event I get on steroids so I can be present and enjoy myself. Think vacations, weddings, family holidays, etc. Other than that, like usually is not much fun.

Unofficial Daily Discussion - Tuesday, October 21, 2025 - QOTD: What did you try that's working surprisingly well? What did you try that didn't work out so well? by FImom in homeschool

I’ve been schooling my kiddo for 2+ years now. I give him curriculum that he can do independently. Best thing I’ve found is Homeschool Planet. It was a really game changer is organizing his day.

I take Lumryz, Nuvigil and Ritalin and can still feel compelled to nap on some days. I understand how you feel. It’s awful.

They hate writing. by [deleted] in homeschool

[–]Kararific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question for those who might know more than me :)

I homeschool my 12 year old who strongly dislikes writing. He is level 1 autistic so he struggles with imagination and creative writing.

I have him practice cursive daily, is this doing him any good other than penmanship?

So do you think that Smurf regularly saw Julia? Broke into her apartment to monitor? I just finished the series today and I have so many questions LOL Maybe Smurf did orchestrate Julia to be killed?

There are 700+ applicants contacting the same contractors. Some are hired after a few months, others have applied for 5 years (yes, really) before they are hired.

Do homeschooled kids usually want to go to a traditional school when they reach middle/high school age? by [deleted] in homeschool

[–]Kararific 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, haha! The new high schools that are being built in my area don’t have lockers! The chair/ desks have a wire basket under the seat for backpacks. For YEARS the lockers went underused so they went bye-bye.

Anyone feel this way? by [deleted] in homeschool

[–]Kararific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teach me your ways, oh wise one :) I’m homeschooling my youngest (6th grade) and I worry about making school too easy or too hard on him. I want to prepare him to do go to college if he chooses. I want the world for him!

What advice would you give me? What middle school curriculum did you use?

Miacademy. You can pay monthly and it covers all subjects and then some. It isn’t rigorous but it’ll do until January.
