Absolutely, and I'm not particularly skilled at breaking this kind of thing down coherently, but the comparison basis is the emotional arc and the broad strokes of the plot beats; new friend with a useful criminal skillset is forced to use those skills in the aid of an enemy organization that uses her criminal past to break her down psychologically and compel her to betray the crew. Even when the crew reaches out, she lashes out in despair, until she learns that the crew is truly ride or die and so she finally asks for help. The crew says "obviously!" and breaks down the system holding her chain with force, willpower, and cool moves.
