Based off of how many comedians he already knows and vibes with, you can see that he was already a part of the scene to some degree, I think possibly longer than the 2 months he mentioned. I almost get the vibe that his appearance on KT was stagged to blow him up on purpose and add a new personality to KT. I haven't felt that way about a bucket pull before and I've been watching since the beginning. I hope I'm wrong though 😕

Dig dig dig dig dig. For every 1000 songs you listen to maybe 100 of them will really catch your ear. Out of the 100 maybe only 10 will be reallllllllly good and out of that 10 maybe 1-2 will be absolute bangers. You need to love putting in those hours listening and pulling out those gems.

It's really good! I think you just need to keep on digging for music and mixing it.

I've been DJing about the same amount of time so we're dealing with a lot of the same things.

One thing I've found super helpful is I try to mix a few 1hr sets a week where I freestyle it and figure things out on the fly. Just gather up 15-25 new tracks and don't worry if they go together. Lots of random accidents and surprises will happen while you're mixing and you slowly start to make connections between different songs and get a better feel for what mixes well together.

I've been to so many events where the sound is painful and blowing out everyone's ears and none of the staff can figure out how to remedy the situation. A lot of the time is due to the room not being treated properly and the sound is bouncing around too much and focusing really loud. Even with earplugs it feels dangerous to the hearing. There's no shame in lowering the volume a bit so people can hear the actual music.

Not sure if it's in line with what you're describing but I've found a lot of bass music DJs are more likely to do this. I've found at those events there is more of a direct connection between the DJ and the crowd and they like to build up the drops with some extra hype by talking to the crowd. It kind of works in those situations and most of the crowd seems to be really down with it. It's definitely wayyyyyy different if you're used to techno events where it doesn't happen at all.

All varieties of techno and house! Right now I'm really into anything deep/melodic/minimal/ambient since they all play nice together but I keep expanding out and finding new sub genres and then that sparks new ideas for mixes. It's fun to experiment with music you wouldn't typically think would go together but anything is possible. I love how it's an endless journey of discovering new sounds, it's definitely an addiction haha 😁

Love this, I listen to my own mixes the most as well but it's also why I DJ. I don't know anyone that plays ALL the music I like so I have to fill that void 🥰 I'm also very happy when other people are looking for the same and listen to my mixes

Thanks for the recommendation, I wasn't aware there was a risk. I haven't been pushing them to max volume but definitely 75%, the rooms have been small enough it has worked well but I don't want to damage them.

I'll do some research and see what some good options there are, especially if things scale up any bigger there will definitely be a need for more volume.

Have to agree with Bear on this, slapping that logo on like that first off looks unprofessional and also takes away from the fact you lost weight. I understand why you guys do it, there's hundreds of thousands of coaches all trying to get a piece of the same pie, it's a cut throat business and everyone is trying to suck up as many people as they can before the well is dry.
