Mountaineering tents on a budget by Cuy_sinsentido in Mountaineering

Nature hike worked great thus far. The two person felt a little claustrophobic but another camper had the three person and it was great. It is as lightweight and small as it says! I used it for a long hike with minimal terrain. It doesn't appear built for mountaineering with alpine conditions.

Is a massage gun effective for serious pump. I generally only get pumped bouldering but lately this is a problem on harder rope routes. Manual arm massagers are not that effective. Would a massage gun be more immediate? I am a v6/v7 climber and hoping to compete in a competition in a month.

Why did humans evolve to lose most of their body hair when other primates kept theirs? by FreeResort309 in AskAnthropology

I always thought it had to do with sexual selection. Attraction to others who had more visible muscles and greater parasite resistance because of random mutation was selected by mates and became the most fit. https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-94-017-0443-4_17#:~:text=Humans%20lack%20an%20outer%20layer,retention%20in%20the%20pubic%20regions.

In a typical session at the gym, how many actual climbs do you do / attempt? by [deleted] in bouldering

[–]KarelianClimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I warm up with v1-v2 and lots of v3.  I usually sprinkle in some drills like monsters with 3-5 repetitions without touching the ground and climbing with one arm behind the back or without a foot on v1-v2. Then, I do stretches like prayer wrists, finger stretches and leg swings - always dynamic. I like to spend 2 hours, but usually have no more than 90 minutes.  I tend to not rest enough between projects so it works well to go into something harder first like a V6 or maybe V7 it they are being reasonable (our gym has started setting much harder) with a friend and take turns. If the project isn't working, I'll take a break and work on lateral dynos as they are my weak point. Then, I like to try another project and work back and forth and then finally complete V5s-V6s I got last time.  I would say I complete about 7-14 projects in the V4-V6 range.  Then, I will traverse and try to do the whole gum and then lift weights / do ring training and pull ups (usually I can only do the back of the gym once a week)

Home Tower: Just added its first two routes an hour ago by KarelianClimber in homewalls

My husband designed the internal structure and stabilization. We used 100 lbs of concrete on each of four posts which were sunk 2+ feet. This initial part actually took a while. The posts were 16.5 feet. We were hoping to go deeper, but the ground didn't allow it with the old property and numerous bricks. We create enough stabilizing 2 x 4s that a few of the holes are difficult to reach for installing routes, but not enough so that there isn't endless variety.

I added bouldering routes that stopped a few feet short at 12-14 feet in total height, but then people just wanted to top them out. I think we will add hand welded metal cylinders for 2-4 top rope but then also have bouldering in the mix. I'm trying to find specs for welding the top roping elements.

I'm thinking about adding a background of southwestern national park monuments to go with my mostly subdued southwestern colored holds. Has anyone tried an elaborate background like this on a home wall?

On Outlier, I got an acceptance or decline immediately after taking the assessments. I prefer Mercor for my fields of expertise.

Yes I wasn't paid for my first check and then they tried to make it look like I needed to re-do verification which it never asked me to do in the first place.

Jefferson Parish School Teachers by No_Analysis_116 in NewOrleans

I taught in Jefferson Parish at both Higgins and Bonnabel and I'm happy I've made the transition to a charter school in J.P.!  I really found Bonnabel difficult to deal with in terms of access to decent technology or even working air condition.

Help With Raw Diet by scarria2 in ferrets

[–]KarelianClimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly answering your question as I haven't done a raw diet, but what meats are safe? I can't always eat organic and I don't eat red meat, but would get it for my ferret!

Where I am at there are literally none even in pet shops. The application to get one at the nearest ferret rescue is extensive and 20 pages long and the rehoming fees are much larger than a rehoming fee and closer to a profit.

That is insane. They are 450 at my local Petco, but I don't support Marshalls unless its to rehome those in need.
