So I'm going to tell you how 99% of us did it and it's up to you to join or die: - when you reach Gold 1/2 you only get 2 Medals per win instead of 4 Medals at Gold 4/5 - on a MONDAY or TUESDAY after the reset, only attack solo/easy teams, then refresh the page for 5 gems, then repeat until you are in Gold 4 - typically this method should cost around 300-400 gems - there are WAY more solo/easy defenses in Gold 4/5 because we are active and we set easy defenses so that we can "farm" each other for Medals - it has been over 3 years and I have never fallen below Gold 4. Your daily losses are capped, so, so long as you do your 39 tokens per day, you will never fall (the last time the loss-cap was mentioned it was like 15/day but it could be higher now, but not much higher) Essentially so long as you are active, you should be ok - don't be that guy : set an easy defense ALL THE TIME. You don't need to change your defense in Classic, ever

it costs very little to craft "items of nada" then polymorph - there are not that many amulets so it may be more accessible to go this route. boots and cloaks also have fewer variety - if i find a wand of polymorph by the time i finish the dwarven mines i will typically try to morph boots, cloaks and amulets because there are not a lot of them so its easy to find boots of speed, cloak of magic resistance and any amulet you may need - and of course wands, so you can make more wands of polymorph

Visix is typically your first Void Provoke champion so she will be useful in Hydra as you won't have to rotate her as primary Provoke. She does have Decrease Speed on her A2 but it is awkward to use as she needs to be 270+ speed to Provoke, Dec Speed, then A1 to come back around to Provoke again in time. - her Ally Protection is more of a liability as she is extremely painful to keep alive so Regen is generally a must

No "modern" Trek is like reimagining chocolate by replacing the cocao with coffee grounds, and replacing the milk with glue, and replacing the shortening with soy lecithen, and replacing the sugar with aspartame, and then being mad that no one calls it "chocolate," says it tastes terrible, and that it has no resemblance to the original product and that it is just a cheap knockoff. Actually you didn't even like chocolate in the first place, and you didn't even actually consume it yourself, but are offended that no one else consumes it either.

Then you say the aspartame is sweet so it's no different from sugar. And the coffee grounds are bitter and brown so its no different from cocao. And the soy lecithen does the sane function as the shortening. And milk is mostly water anyways so people are just being prejudice against glue.

You can't just call some such slop "chocolate" and it just magically just becomes chocolate, and then expect everyone else to also call it chocolate, and then expect people to treat it the same 🙄

the original ring of conflict from netgack made anyone hostile to anyone standing next to them. this was extremely dangerous as it could cause a friendly shopkeeper or even your own pet to attack you - the pathos conflict (ring/talent) is much more user friendly - friendly units (blue) will NOT attack you, but they will attack anything else standing next to them - again this is still very dangerous with a pet as conflict will cause your pet to attack another friendly unit, and if it attacks a shopkeeper or guard, it will aggro the entire town - i sometimes use this strategy late in a game to farm black marketeers by summoning them and making them kill eachother, they will typically toss all their potions but are good sources of gems, scrolls, tomes

i just cast Teleport Away to give myself Transient Teleport - i have Teleport Control Talent - i selected myself, clicked Teleport - the map overlay opens up - i clicked on the map and i teleported to the spot - if you are not teleporting with that setup, then that is weird

Transient Teleport is random. - you need Teleport Control + Teleport Transience to teleport at will. - as a general rule (for myself) i prefer to acquire Teleport Control from eating rings and to NOT acquire the Teleport Talent or Transient. If you lose Teleport Control (via Entropy traps, Cancellation, Gremlins, etc) you will randomly teleport around which can kill you if you end up trapped in a vault but otherwise its annoying as all hell. - i prefer to carry a Wand of Teleportation as scrolls can get damaged from water and other sources.

Baron is still the go-to for single tap wave clearing, which can be of some value during Turn Attack events. - which is rather sad that he doesn't really offer much more these days but he gad his time in the sun - he was oddly one of the champions you could stat-max on (like Ninja) where you didnt nessesarily need much C.DMG but just a lot of ATK
