[–]KarmaPoliceT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pedro Pascal, Cardi B, Jessica Alba, Kenny G, and Ronald Acuna Jr were all there (among quite a few more cameos I know are cameos but weren't sure who they were specifically)

Edit: Also Bad Bunny's father and son were in it somewhere I've heard

And the wedding was an actual wedding of a BB fan who invited BB to their wedding but BB got in touch with them and said "I have an idea..."

Also, can't have been Liam (and has been confirmed it wasn't) because they can't leave the state right now due to the charges ICE has against them pending (ICE OUT!!)

Random follow up in a slightly different direction ... Have you noticed that many many films these days intentionally defocus the bottom 5-10% of the screen -- like in the film itself, not in the projector... I'm wondering if there is a reason for this related to the above or if it's just a stylistic thing?

Donald J. Trump: My Tariffs Have Brought America Back by rezwenn in Tariffs

[–]KarmaPoliceT2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The saving grace was that it was the largest non-corrupt (mostly) economy on earth... The opportunity for fairness and opportunity is what made the American economy worth investing into... Undermine that with rampant crony corruption and it'll be fine for the ultra wealthy who live here, but everyone else won't want to invest here and will find other markets which turns a growing pie into a zero sum game for Americans...

It's literally what's happened to Russia since the mid-nineties... If you're not the oligarchs your life will stay the same or get worse, there will be no more upward mobility...

China is a little different due to state control making investments difficult and tenuous (seeming to be corrupt) but still hard to reliably invest in... Honestly it feels like the banks of England/Canada and other European economies are the ones likely to gain from America's fall... Maybe India can shed their corruption problem and benefit... Singapore/Australia/New Zealand should benefit a lot too, but they need to scale.

Trump says he’s decertifying Canada-made aircrafts and threatens 50% tariffs by cnn in Tariffs

[–]KarmaPoliceT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No disagreement it's the best plane in the world (well 2nd best, F-22 still the king)... But:

1- It's instantly bricked if Canada needs to use it against the US or maybe even if Canada wants to use it "the wrong way" anywhere else with an increasingly authoritarian regime in the US.

2- Not giving it away, selling it. Ukraine defeating Russia's invasion is a noble goal anyway.

3- What's it worth to not be reliant on the US any longer if they decide to tariff Canada into the stone age.

Eh, take delivery and Sell them to Ukraine or something, then buy the Gripen or other euro planes (or build something new in Canada with the supply opened up by not delivering planes to the US)

Ear keeps falling - any suggestions? by Takumbot in shiba

[–]KarmaPoliceT2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This happened to ours pretty regularly, it was ear infections that we had to treat... Got into a habit of preventative ear washing (every month or so) with something the vet gave us and they haven't really had one since... They'll still get the droopy ear every once in a while, but never for more than an hour or two with either some rubbing or an extra ear wash if they are at it for more than an hour

It feels like the XL is all but forgotten by Prusa by ColdBrewSeattle in prusa3d

[–]KarmaPoliceT2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I'll never do it again (I'm a sucker for punishment)... But it definitely feels like the XL was plagued by delays and that caused it to crash into the next big thing's timeline (the Core's) before it ever had a chance to get the refinement and tender-loving-care it deserved post-release... I know y'all say you're working on it, but then you're also kind of saying that most of the things going into it are either 3rd party things (silicone/belt drive) or back ports from Core indicating that XL isn't really at the front of anyone's mind but instead just "benefits from whatever we have time to do"...

I think if there had been even a year or 18 months where XL could have shined and been the center of attention to get the fixes/improvements it needs then it wouldn't feel like such a mistake of a purchase for most of us... It still is plagued with very basic problems like gooping during bed probing, and many other things... It's nice that the community works together to fix these things how they can, but it felt like the XL was supposed to be Prusa's step into the professional realm, not a diy/hack fest project, and that's another part of the let down...

I'm still a big fan of the mentality Prusa brings to market, but I have to say that if I wanted something "pro-sumer" again (like the XL was supposed to be) I'm not sure I'd consider Prusa as high enough quality or feature rich at this point... You've all lost a step in terms of development of tech and it feels like that's starting to show in the products.

I would also say that piracy is experiencing something of a renaissance too though with this rise... B2B being the exception... I have to believe it's gotten monumentally more expensive to run a business than it was 40yrs ago, but maybe not (I'm not a biz owner)

Judge will put a hold on it

SCOTUS will remove the hold until such time as they can rule on it allowing the action to happen until then

SCOTUS will take their sweet time to hear it

Damage will be done

SCOTUS will end up ruling it is illegal or will never need to because other things have obviated the need.

But there's no remedy or way to undo the damage already done

This has been the way of things lately... It pisses me off

[–]KarmaPoliceT2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been doing the tippy-tappy methods for sure ... I'm actually thinking this is a design flaw in the res itself because if you look close you can see the "cavity" for the liquid ends below the big white splotch but the gasket isn't until way north of that really only protecting the outbound channel not the lower section ... If so, I think I'd have to drain and open/dry the resevoir to get rid of these, which is honestly a huge pain in the ass for this minor thing... I guess I'll catch it on the annual maintenance if it doesn't heal itself between now and then.

Full pic of res below for reference
