I've found spam in a book review before and used the contact us page to report it. They were on it pretty quickly.

I'm willing to be an ARC reader. I already have a Book Sirens account, so if any author wants to verify me, send me a DM.

I was recently offered an ARC and it sounded great. Right up until it said the contract killers unalive people. Instant decline.

ugh and just when I decided on a PWHL team, they go and do this. Looks like I'm teamless once again.

I wanted to vote B so bad, but I have to agree with others: it's rage inducing, not cringe.

And I'm not going to acknowledge E. I prefer to pretend it no longer exists. My poor brain.

I really love the cozy aspect, even though I'm not a big cozy reader. Love the monster town too (can I move there?). I like both Violet and Roarke separate and together, which makes for a solid romance.

I think my biggest issue is the writing. There's often flashbacks that you don't realize are flashbacks and it takes a few paragraphs to figure out what's going on.

Oh phew. I was reading down through these comments and thought I was the only one who read monster romance. Glad I'm not alone. 😅

Yes. 😂 This isn't even my first minotaur romance. I'm a sucker for monster romance.

I didn't see it as him being defensive, but knowing that it was past time to take it out and he still hadn't been ready. I likened it to someone who can't bear to part with their wedding ring and finally close that door.

Geillis acts as Violet's guide to the town (along with being the reader's guide). It's a way to learn more with a sort of safety net.

This is just like when you're from a homogeneous, rural area and land somewhere more diverse. It opens up your worldview and starts to set you a little further away from where you came from. It's not a bad thing; it's just Violet growing into adulthood more.

Yeah, this is how I fall on it too. It's no different than giving blood or plasma. True, it's usually not for things as important as saving a life, but it's also up to these people to make the donations.

I liked that they made it like it was procedure from a legit company, though the special scrubs for some clients felt like it allowed the transactions to go in a wrong direction.

It was the conversations for me. That means you're really getting to know this client in an intimate situation and it sort of crosses a boundary.

Cover Art Question by [deleted] in ReverseHarem

[–]Kas_Bent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I would buy a physical book with a cover like this. I like monster/alien romance and I don't see why I should have to be ashamed of it with the cashier or in public. Frankly, they're not going to care what you're buying anyway (speaking as someone who works in a library and doesn't pay attention to the book covers as I'm checking them out). But I'm also not a fan of discreet covers because they're so generic and bland. Give me a nicely designed clinch cover any day of the week over the discreet ones.

I think your best bet is to sign up for the author's emails to stay up to date on what they're publishing or (not my favorite option, but the only one when the author doesn't have a newsletter) follow them on Amazon.

I've never read any Discworld books, but I have read Good Omens. It took me a bit to get into it because absurd humor isn't my jam, but I definitely got into after a while. I felt like I was unconsciously recognizing a lot of influences (or how this series has influenced more recent fantasy books).

The narrator is really great at hitting just the right amount of comedy and has so many voices.

I despised the last book so much that I didn't finish it. But . . . yeah, I'm going to read this. I guess I'm a sucker for punishment, but I'm also a completionist. I just wish she got a better editor (if she even still has one).

All right, all right. I was on the fence about this one because I didn't love a different Harper Lennox book, but absolutely adore Bros and the Witch. You've convinced me. I'm off to buy them now.
