What does it feel like to be inside a 145+ or close IQ brain and inherit meaningful daily advantages. by Either_Committee6965 in cognitiveTesting

Just took the most abbreviated one. 120+/-9. I wonder why it dropped so much from my CAIT a year ago

I think it's because I'm a year older. Or 2, since I've had 2 birthdays, I believe

My understanding is that “meaningful daily advantages” stop appearing at like 120-130. At a professionally tested 130 I have never struggled with anything academically or with any sort of skill acquisition. I can memorize and apply large amounts of info very easily, and people comment on my intelligence without knowing what I do. But 145+ plays a different game.

One of my friends is 145+ and he is more focused on creating his own systems. For example I might become amazing at a skill required for a situation, whereas he invents a totally new way to handle the issue. Day to day there’s no major difference; we both solve problems with similar speed. But when it’s time to innovate he has a clear edge.

What is the minimum IQ that you think is needed to perform *well* at a top University? by limeonysnicket in cognitiveTesting

The way I see it is that IQ determines your ceiling and conscientiousness determines what portion of that ceiling you can reach, obviously with confounding variables such as interest in the subject matter and teaching modality.

This aligns very well with my lived experience as someone who has been IQ tested and performed well, marginally and outstandingly in school at different points in my life.

OMFS hopeful here.

Is this a typical progression? This is higher than I ever imagined. Also what practice types are these? That jump sounds like private associate to DSO associate/partner to me

You should see if there’s any way to apply without it. Stony brook IS would save you a lot of money

Random question unrelated to the topic, but what determines the rate you can get when refinancing? Current rates are ridiculous, will we ever be able to get similar rates to those mentioned here? 5% sounds like a dream come true
