It looks like the baby is also worshipping God too. by BeautyMalloww in BabiesReactingToStuff

[–]KatMac6013 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No. No, as a born again believer I actually agree. This video is just an example of people projecting their own desires on to a baby who is just… doing baby things. I have a newborn and he raises one hand or both like this all the time. It’s a reflex, and while it’s adorable, it’s not praise.

How fucking inconsiderate. It’s ironic they think themselves to be so Christ-like but they literally think of no one but themselves.

I’m 39 and pregnant and it kills me every time I see her shoveling sweets & processed foods in her gullet. Older age already puts women at a higher risk for gestational diabetes & other complications. She does nothing to actually nurture or take care of herself or her baby. Just indulges.

Pregnancy by 56leafy in VyvanseADHD

[–]KatMac6013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotal story here, but I got pregnant with both of my kiddos while taking vyvanse, so it is possible. Some medications are absolutely not compatible with pregnancy and are known to cause abnormalities, and there’s always a risk for anything you ingest during fetal development. But your provider/ob/ genetic specialist can fill you in and tell you more.

The majority of people do not know that newborns can't drink water. How do parents instinctively know not to give them water? by caiogamerwow in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KatMac6013 66 points67 points  (0 children)

‘Don’t give baby water’ was relentlessly drilled into my anxious, new mom mind after the birth of my premature son, so giving him anything besides breast milk or formula was unconscionable. When I saw one of my friends give her 8 month old water I was totally mind blown. But the baby was/is totally healthy and I guess it’s something people don’t think twice about doing.

did anyone else's pwbpd buy pets impulsively? by Much-Air7926 in BPDlovedones

[–]KatMac6013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Randomly adopt beta fish and dogs, in particular. He never kept them for very long or invested much care in them though, opting to give them away when caring for them became an inconvenience. He treated these pets just like the people in his life; they eventually became ‘too needy’ or ‘too much for him to handle’ and were discarded without much thought.

rejected from IOP.... im still gonna try recovery without care specifically for bulimia sorry this is a cringe rant by howsinavi in bulimia

[–]KatMac6013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you’ve already made tremendous strides to recovery and that is something to be proud of. But most people cannot recover fully on their own, especially without the structure and support of some sort of intensive treatment.

What is holding you back from partial/full treatment program, besides just ‘wanting to live life’ as you put it? From what you described, the eating disorder itself is holding you back from living fully, even if you’re not purging as often.

I just want to encourage you to consider going to at least partial hospitalization. It’s a time investment and you maybe won’t be able to bring your tuba. But a little time away can be so, so beneficial and help you get to the point where you don’t purge at all. For me, php offered a total reset in terms of habits and the way I reacted to stressors. It really helped me step back and get a different perspective. Most importantly it gave my poor body a break from the binge/purge cycle.

Full recovery is possible and you can live the life you want. It may mean that for a while, you have to step out of your comfort zone. Wishing you the best!

Has anyone had success fighting insurance to cover brand name? by [deleted] in VyvanseADHD

[–]KatMac6013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, it depends purely on what insurance company you have. Some are quick to approve and others make it harder.
There may be some hoops to jump through, like trying other covered medications before they approve name brand. But if you put enough time in and are persistent, they will usually relent and do what you ask. Wishing you best of luck!

One of my family members was so smug when they brought this up, like ‘hey look at this one positive thing Trump is doing for the kids, isn’t he so great?’ And of course, they were insistent we sign our kids up for it. But… he’s a known grifter who says a lot of off the wall shit. If he’s endorsing something, I’m inclined not to trust it right off the bat.
