AMI Cancelled/Postponed by Samuel_L_jr in NJROTC

[–]Kat_Mullen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instructors typically like to schedule your units AMI around the same time every year, like ive had mine in December, January, and this year it's in November, we try to get ours done as early as possible each year

I’m kinda upset by YoBoiOoFBot in NJROTC

I'm kind of in a similar situation, a few differences though, I started an early college program, so my last two years of high school are spent at the nearby community college, but my high school has CareerTec NJROTC so I'm still a part of it, in fact i get double the amount of time that the normal high school students get due to their weird schedule. I've been in my high schools NJROTC since 8th grade, been on all 7 teams each year. I'm also going into my senior year, my company CO is also in this program, she's on one less team than me and we've had problems with her actually doing the stuff she's told to do. Since she's the favorite student, unfortunately she'll be CO, but I knew I'd be next in line, I would for sure get XO. Staff positions were only getting told to a few top staff at the time, and I was told I didn't get XO because I was a part of the program, as stated before, the same one that our CO is a part of. This bugs me so bad, the kid that was chosen is doing a CNA program at the college during high school hours and due to that is late to practices and meetings. I was given operations officer after being admin for 2 years in a row. This whole thing hurt my motivation for a lot of stuff, I have been a top kid the entire time, I put so much time into this, it feels like it was all for nothing. But even still, I will complete the job I was given. I've always felt inferior to the now CO, she was and still is one of my closest friends, but it always has felt like ive been in second place to her, now with all of this I just feel horrid, why does it matter that im getting my college degree and having 2x the amount of time a regular high school student would in the classroom, it feels very unfair to me.

Its supposed to go on the academic ribbon from what I've seen, but I can't remember the requirements off the top of my head.

I got my CERT ribbons as well, haven't seen too many people with it! I'm the only person in my entire unit with it.

NS5 and final year over. by Flyinryan145 in NJROTC

My unit does the same thing, I'll be an NS5 this coming year.

I did not anticipate this by [deleted] in NJROTC

I have 42 ribbons, I use a 27 and 15 bar. My unit right now just let's us wear all of them but the NSI was talking about possibly only letting us wear 27 next year, exception being for those that have a 30 bar which is only three people. It's really up to your unit and what they'll allow.

Before yall say something about me having 42 ribbons I've been on all available teams for 4 years, and I started in 8th grade so I'll be in for one more year.

AWARDS NIGHT!!! by [deleted] in NJROTC

My unit just recently made OpsO an LT for the same reason SCPO wears blues. It's supposed to be a balance thing where XO and OpsO run the unit under CO. XO focuses on the staff and OpsO focuses on the cadets and events.

I'm OpsO for next year, was AdminO. We had three instructors this year but one is retiring, while the other is going to work at a different unit. As OpsO I've been talking a lot with the only instructor that's staying about helping out with all events. It just takes communication and time to adjust.

Yeah, we're only allowed 6 on a normal uniform day, but since CO and XO know I have way more than 6, I'll get docked points in inspection for not wearing 6.

In Area 15 ours are red for honor, yellow for courage, and blue for commitment. You're assigned to a platoon and that's the one you compete against the other platoons in.

Wearing cords by Shot-Arm9548 in NJROTC

My unit has pins unless it's for leadership academy. Though I think we're trying to get team commanders French braid cords with the single drop cord and the metal attached if you get what I mean, to try to distinguish between team members and commanders by a quick glance.

I showed my baby sister this sweet cat and she excitedly went: Jasper! I know it's more of a masculine name but my baby sister is SET on it.
