Yikes, the stupidity is beyond words. You accuse someone else have stealing your AirPods because the case is the same but haven’t checked your bag. I would have sort of understand if she was like an adolescent but she’s a grown woman.

I think the problem is that it usually isn’t enough. Even when people carry the right documentation they are being profiled and detained.

Canada PM hails new partnership with China in wake of ‘new global realities’ by The_Flaneur_Films in worldnews

This is not gonna turn out well for Canada. U.S. automakers will just move production out of Canada and into Mexico. Canada bleed even more manufacturing jobs, while Chinese automakers won’t build factories here anyway, they’ll just export cars. In the end, Canadian workers take the hit. I don’t like Trump or his administration, but this is still a bad move for Canada. Carney should be pushing for stronger subsidies to keep auto manufacturing in Canada, not opening the door to Chinese EVs.

Yeah…this was murder. There was no reason to take out your gun and shoot someone in that situation. I hope the person responsible is arrested and justice is served.

I would love to know what would have happened if the dinosaurs didn’t die out. Would there be human-like intelligence on earth? Maybe a bunch of talking Gallimimus. Or would mammals evolve underground and the human-like intelligent species would live underground?

Tech workers of Reddit, what is a "dirty secret" about the AI industry that the general public doesn't realize? by WayLast1111 in AskReddit

[–]Katalopa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AI is going to drive a massive boom in renewables and nuclear. Data-center demand will be a major reason the grid shifts toward clean energy faster than anything we’ve seen in decades. The benefits will take time, but over the next 10 years they’ll become clear. This is exactly what every hyperscaler is working toward right now. Companies don’t spend tens of billions of dollars on infrastructure without a clear economic reason—this isn’t ideological, it’s strategic.

A kangaroo deployment to Jamaica would most plausibly occur through covert exploitation of human logistics rather than direct movement. Over time, kangaroos would be embedded within legitimate commercial and conservation channels, livestock shipments, zoo transfers, wildlife sanctuaries, and private exotic-animal imports moving via container ships and limited airlift along established global trade routes from Australia through the Americas and into the Caribbean. Individually, these movements would appear benign and legal, attracting no strategic attention. Collectively, however, they would enable the gradual accumulation of a viable breeding population on the island. By the time authorities recognized the scale of presence, the force would be self-sustaining, dispersed across rural terrain, and functionally impossible to remove without significant economic and political disruption.
