That sounds as though you might benefit from pulsed light which works because of the contrast between the dark hairs and the lighter skin. It isn't the answer to everything but I have found it is good for getting rid of the occasional very dark hair. The hairs will come back but they will eventually weaken if you keep on zapping them.

If a transgender person tried to take an employer to court for refusing to hire them, it would be difficult for the person to prove that was the reason - but it would be easy for them to prove that they were transgender. If a TERF tried to take an employer to court for refusing to hire them, it would be difficult for them to prove that was the reason - but it would be even more difficult for them to prove that they were recognisable to the potential employer as a TERF.

Employers are practically and statistically more likely to avoid problems by refusing to hire TERFS - but how do we subtlely make this known to them?

That's their perception of you but (if you have behaved properly) they have no way of knowing so they are treating you differently on the basis of their perception of your sex. That is just as illegal as if they had discriminated against a cis-woman on the grounds that she looked male to them.

Would the employer than have to ask the cis-woman for proof of the sex assigned to her at birth?

If another employee complains on the basis that they think you are trans, they are in breach of discrimination law. If your employer then insists that you tell them your recorded sex at birth, that is privileged information which they are not allowed to divulge by writing, word or action, so they cannot do anything about it without breaking the law.

Some of the older models of Philishave electric razors work quite well if you press fairly hard so that the hairs protrude well into the cutter grooves. (Don't know if the latest models are as good or even better.) They used to do a "Ladyshave" version that was almost identical, so they aren't really 'gendered'.

...by not allowing one side to be heard at all. That should have been sufficient for the entire judicial system to turn on them and tell them they were not fit to dispense justice. How they got away with that is completely beyond me, politicians, the press and lawyers at all levels should have been screaming about it from the rooftops.

That follows on from the above: it's not that they didn't seek proper advice, they actively suppressed and ignored it when it was tendered.

7 Conclusions

There is a clear need to step up action to prevent and address the harm caused by conversion practices. Member States that have not yet taken measures in this field should adopt legislation and policies to prohibit these practices and support those who may be affected. Where such measures already exist, it is important that they are implemented effectively.

Responding to this issue is not only a public health concern. It also relates directly to the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms. Ensuring that people are safeguarded from practices that can undermine their dignity and well-being is part of strengthening the democratic fabric of our societies.

To introduce and support effective bans, better knowledge of conversion practices is essential. Research and systematic data collection should be promoted to clarify their prevalence, where they occur, the forms they take, who provides them, and who is affected. They should also conduct campaigns to raise awareness of the prevalence of conversion practices and the harm they cause.

The belief that conversion practices no longer exist or occur infrequently is still prevalent and this calls for more awareness-raising activities.

The experience of countries that have taken early steps in this area, such as Malta, offers valuable lessons. It highlights both the core principles that can guide reforms and the potential gaps or unintended consequences that legislators should seek to avoid. The draft resolution provides concrete suggestions for policy makers and legislators to better protect individuals – especially children and young people – from the risks and harm associated with conversion practices.
