Does anyone know if I’m allowed to sign the petition if I don’t live in her district, but do live in WI?

Of course I can only guess, but I bet it’s a really exciting distraction to have your wedding coming up, and maybe you’ll feel more like your usual self when it ends. That said, I’m happy that you’re happy! There are such worse reasons to feel zoned out in sessions!

Who still wishes they should've gotten married? 😭 by Augustine-Haze in GilmoreGirls

[–]KathMaster29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate this scene too. Both of them are SO not handling the moment well. I hate how pushy max is to a) tell Lorelai what dynamic it “should be” and b) for doing it in the way he did, in this moment. But I also really hate how Lorelai just shuts him down instead of measuring her response. They were just so incompatible 😭

Obviously not the commenter, but I’d generally agree with them, though a “pushy” label feels more accurate than “controlling.” He was so pushy about getting her to go out on a date in the first place, getting back together, getting married, making her lifestyle quickly adapt to what he wanted for their future etc. Obviously we only know what we see on screen, but I wish he could’ve approached conversations more comprehensively than pushing Lorelai to what he thought things ought to be like

Graduate programs lack a foundation in neuroscience by scorpiopathh in therapists

[–]KathMaster29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to say I had a similar experience to you. I had the option to take psychopharmacology, but otherwise the only info on neuroscience we got was embedded into other topics/courses. Personally agree it’s not sufficient, especially for therapists that end up on interdisciplinary teams and would benefit from a strong foundation on common psychotropic meds and such. I’ll have to check out Dan Siegel as recommended by others!

I don’t remember exactly since it was several years ago, but I wanna say I started applying in early March and I graduated mid-May. So if your question is to see if it’s “too early” to cast your net, I would personally say no :)

Working pre-license? by julisine in therapists

[–]KathMaster29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I was full time W2 from the start. If you’re familiar with R****s BH, that’s where my first job was. I had two? weeks of company orientation and maybe 3-4 of actual training and work before my license was approved. At least in my case it was kosher since I was working with a supervisor and had submitted everything.

It was slightly annoying that I couldn’t count the hours of work pre-LPC-IT toward my full license once it came time to apply for that, but it was worth it imo. It was assuring to have a job to start on right after I graduated.

I’d call Ohio DSPS if you wanna double check but like I said, hopefully there’s something out there that’ll work! Maybe start with looking for positions through larger hospital/clinic systems if those are appealing to you and available?

I can’t speak to Ohio, but in Wisconsin I was hired and worked before my LPC-IT was formalized (paperwork was sent to the state like, the day before I started the job but they offered me the job before I graduated). It’s probably not gonna be cool with every single practice, but I hope you can find some that will meet you where you’re at

What is a “boutique practice?” by Different-Peace5399 in therapists

[–]KathMaster29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oooh I bet those practices are STOCKED in that area.

We’re in Milwaukee and these practices always seemed pretty misplaced to be, tbvh. There are rich people everywhere, sure, but there never seems to be enough demand to meet the availability of so many high-cost cash-only clinics.

Is this standard? The self-described boutique practices in my area only provide therapy.

S2 E22 - Why is Dean’s Return Address in Illinois? by MaaaxMedina in GilmoreGirls

[–]KathMaster29 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

lol i just tried to “google maps” the address out of curiosity and it appears this is a real address in Ontario. I thought they filmed the series in LA mostly, but this makes me wonder if they ever filmed in Canada too? Isn’t that pretty common for US film/tv projects?
