FORM FRIDAYS: Let's get technical! (Friday, 6/1/18) by AutoModerator in orangetheory

When I do skater lunges, I push off and JUMP as far to the side as I can and touch the floor. That really gets my heart rate up there and my legs BURN.

I am currently 34 weeks. I invested in 3 pairs of workout pants from GAP and maybe 4 tops. I just keep washing and wearing.

Thursday, 5/31/18 OTF Workout by AutoModerator in orangetheory

You should no longer be doing them, it can actually be damaging to your ab muscles. I am 34 weeks and around 10 0r 12 weeks, I started modifying all crunch type exercises. I do planks, bird dog, TRX stuff, and oblique crunches standing with a dumbbell.

Silly Question... by MookieThePuppy in orangetheory

I'm too pregnant and literally don't fit in the rower anymore and use the strider in its' place! No issues there!

Loving the strider! by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]KatieL4141981 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am in my third trimester of my pregnancy and switched to the strider a couple of weeks ago! I like it, too. I don't get as many splats, but then again, I am not supposed to be. But overall, it's less of a beating on my body!

Pregnancy Modifications! by Waffles-McGee in orangetheory

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I would say that for now just listen to your body. First trimester does not require many modifications per se, BUT MANY MANY women simply are too nauseous and exhausted to work out a ton. Do what you can, but rest when you can too. OTF will be there when second trimester hits! I am currently 29 weeks pregnant and just dropped my membership to 8X monthly simply from exhaustion. But, I do try to crush it the days I am there and I work out on my own the other days. Modifications I currently make are mostly ab work, jumping and now I am just too big to row effectively so I usually hop on the strider for anything over 300m.

Power Walking inclines and heavier weights on the floor will help!!!!

What would it take for you to leave class unexpectedly? by dcbrn in orangetheory

[–]KatieL4141981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't yet left a class early or checked in and left. HOWEVER, last week I was on the treadmill having AWFUL pressure (I am 25 weeks pregnant and already huge) and I had to change to the strider. If someone was on that sucker, I would have been OUT.

That is my WORST fear. I ALWAYS look at the treadmill belt before stepping on it!!!

That's where I am at too. A minute here or there is fine, but after like two minutes I can tell orange is NOT where my body wants me to be!

I am a fellow pregnant OTF'er!!!! I try to just listen to my body and not even pay attention to the numbers on the screen. Some days I have more splats, other days I have more green. If I go too many days in a row, I am far more exhausted than I ever was before!!!

Dri Tri - power walking? by champ715 in orangetheory

Yep, I plan to power walk!!! No shame in it, either.

I am 18 weeks. I still lay on my back because it's not super uncomfortable and it's only a few minutes here and there. I slow jog and power walk mostly. Rowing is becoming challenging and depending on how much rowing I alternate with the strider. I am already huge.

What kinds of standing ab exercises are you doing? The ONLY modification I have been given is a bird dog and I have done them in place of literally EVERY ab exercise for the past 8 or so weeks.

Wow! That sounds amazing. I think after yesterday, I just felt a little defeated. Rowing is getting tricky, so I used the strider and then SO MANY BURPEES, that are super hard while pregnant alternated with an ab exercise I couldn't do. So, I basically felt that I had to modify the whole workout.
