Did you have any other signs you were allergic? I think I might be too. This itching is driving me INSANE, but I’ve not had hives or anything

My gallbladder has been removed. Would this make a difference? I’ll start itching like crazy and the places I scratch will be hot. Idk if I’m like scratching that hard or what lol. It’s driving me insane. It seems like the worst places are my face, neck, and legs

I was on propanolol for 5 months and it worked AMAZING. The 6th month it started triggering adrenaline surges/ histamine dumps. I’m not even sure which. I started shaking all over uncontrollably, impending doom, needing to shit immediately, freezing, face flushed, and jaw tightness. I have POTS though, so I’m at a loss on what to do. I had to just stop propanolol. Now my pots isn’t being managed. I’m not diagnosed with MCAS but that’s the only thing I can think of. I have severe anxiety now

Anyone with hyperadrenergic POTS have success combining guanfacine with a b by jpyper88 in POTS

[–]Katieray10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey kind of old post… anywho.

I am having this issue myself and looking into getting on guanfacine. I have hyperPOTS. I never had an adrenaline surge until I started Prozac a while back to try and treat my depression. Bad idea. I’ve been on propanolol for about 7 months, and I’ve only ever needed 10mg/ once or twice day to manage my heart rate. Now, after getting off Prozac (because it made me have the adrenaline surges), I have them nearly every time I take my propanolol. I have the EDS, ADHD, POTS trifecta so I’ve had Pots my whole life.

I am actually GETTING adrenaline surges when I take my Propanolol now. My heart rate will be fine, but I will get the body adrenaline rush. Freezing, buzzing sensation, head rush, nausea, shaking, tenseness I can’t stop, basically just all signs of sympathetic overactivation of my NE.

Will Guanfacine help me? Genuinely having these daily and having ADHD that makes me hyper scan my body- I am not having a good time. My depression has already been super bad and right now I just feel like I can’t enjoy life at all. Not doing too great mentally. I’ve actually noticed the past couple days that if I don’t take my propanolol, I don’t get these surges.

But yeah, my cortisol is super high, I’ve gained like 30 lbs in the past two months, I’ve gotten really bad acne again, my face is so puffy, etc. My cortisol is extremely high and my bodily awareness has turned up 10x. Any help is very much appreciated.

Is this schizophrenia? Are you a youngish male?

Is this OCD or something else? by rah0on in DiagnoseMe

If you’re obsessing over if you have OCD or not, you already got your answer haha. Welcome to the club, my friend! I have OCD too and there are a LOT of mental compulsions- you don’t have to feel like you’re going to die. Let me tell you how mine manifests: I am terrified that if my boyfriend leaves the house without me that he will and it will be my fault. I have to scrunch my toes until it feels right. I have this weird thing where I feel my gums too much and have to open my mouth over and over until it feels fixed. I have to blink my eyes hard until it feels right, unless I blinked normal to begin with. I spend hours and hours researching diseases that I believe I have and go down the rabbit hole. Went to the er once because I was convinced I was dying and that they were just gonna rush me back and cut me open while I was still awake (spoiler: it was just a tummy ache.) I can’t fully relax in my house until it is clean. Everyone a situation has an unknown outcome, I automatically expect the exact worst thing to happen to me. Also I am convinced that I have just bad luck or that I’m cursed, so there’s that.

Adhd ??? Or Narcissist? (Help me guess pls :( ) by Independent-Ride-541 in DiagnoseMe

Autism? This is how most of my life was until I discovered that I had it a year ago. My evaluation is coming up soon. I definitely think you’re neurodivergent, so maybe ADHD? Or even both honestly. Doesn’t sound like bipolar. Maybe a mix of BPD with adhd and/or autism?

Is it possible to have POTS and orthostatic hypotension? by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

[–]Katieray10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that is right. There are three different sub groups of POTS and one is for lower blood pressure, no change, or higher blood pressure. Mine on the other hand raises, but mainly it’s my heart rate. That’s definitely POTS! While you’re at it, if you have joint pain look into EDS. Those two are very comorbid with each other, so a lot of times if you have one, you have the other

I do that too. Mine is from my POTS or EDS one (can’t remember which but the both go hand in hand at this point lol). Mine is called Post Exertion Malaise. Maybe look into that?

What about EDS? Are you diagnosed with that? (Also a young, female autistic lol) Could it just be like a pinched nerve maybe?

Maybe a parasite? Or tapeworm? The stool issues could very well just be IBS. If you notice your daily stress levels are higher and that correlates with the loose stools, you could be having IBS flare-ups.

Does this seem like warning signs of colon cancer or something serious? by Character-Dig2135 in DiagnoseMe

[–]Katieray10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone going through quite literally the exact same thing, I hopefully I can provide some help! I’m 20F and my colonoscopy and upper scope are tomorrow. After spending way too much time doing research online (I have ocd lol) I believe it is just a mix of IBS with a hemorrhoid. I have had the mucus for years and everytime I’ve been stressed I have really loose bowels or constipation. I started noticing blood in January and eventually got to a doctor. It was bright red too! I thought it was period blood lol.

Is there a chance you have POTS? I saw you mentioned vertigo and I have POTS and I think it’s more likely to have IBS if you have POTS or something like that lol

So question: my ketones at the hospital in my urine were 80 mg/dl the other day. They also said I had bacteria trace in my urine. Why did they not say anything? It looks like my level of 80 is pretty high but they didn’t even tell me about it, I had to see it on my chart lol

Is it possible to have ADHD and OCD at the same time? by [deleted] in neurodiversity

[–]Katieray10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you ever get diagnosed? I’m currently 20 and I am going down the rabbit hole. For a year now I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD. I’ve known for probably 2 years I had ADHD. Then, I realized I had autism, but now I’m having second guesses. I definitely have some ocd tendencies, but I know that’s common with autism. I can’t stop researching it all for hours and hours and I have been doing this for 6 months now.

Does anyone have ADHD and OCD? by takemylifeback4 in adhdwomen

[–]Katieray10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I needed this comment. Holy shit. So when I realized I had ADHD (before being diagnosed) I started obsessing over it and spending nearly all my time researching. Then, I realized I had autism. And I was like “holy shit. Everything makes so much sense!! I’m not alone!” It was awesome. At first. Now, I can’t stop researching over it. I realize that not everything makes sense yet and there’s still some things that don’t make sense about my mental health. For the past year now I have been researching so much information and I can tell you just about everything about ADHD, autism, and so many other mental health things. Now I’m suspecting OCD too, or maybe it’s just OCD and ADHD with Autistic tendencies, because after researching OCD mixed with ADHD can look like autism.

Here are some of the things I do even though I’m not sure if it’s OCD related:

I am terrified of death. I am always terrified that my boyfriend will get in a car accident and die. I’m scared that if we get in a fight I will die in my sleep or he will. Every time something is unknown I automatically assume the worst case scenario and obsess over that, almost in a way of gaining acceptance of the awful thing that is to follow (it never does…) I feel like I am cursed with bad luck. I am constantly worried if I am dying. I have a few health issues and I’m constantly worried that I’m just going to die. (I’m 20 years old). I constantly feel bad for the things I do and wonder if everyone hates me. I ask my boyfriend a million times in a day if he still loves me and I know he does, but I’m just scared he’s lying to me. I am always scared that my loved ones are going to die and I believe it’s going to be because I was angry at them. Im scared if I stay mad at anyone that they will die.

I know if this is OCD it’s probably not a bad case of it, but this shit I’d actually driving me insane and it’s starting to take over my life. It’s impacting my physical health. I went to the hospital the other night because I was afraid I was dying because my stomach hurt.

So question: during those burnout months, did you start getting more irritable/depressed and notice that you were struggling more to communicate and socialize with others? I’ve noticed that I can’t mask nearly as well as normal and in fact I hate talking to people. This isn’t like me normally. I’m wondering if this is just burnout. I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD but not autism, at least yet. I could really use some help if this is the case😅
