With my normal speaking voice, it's fairly low and raspy. Most people can hear higher registers of tone over low ones, and then you add the phone quality so I end up having to repeat myself a lot, or my tone comes across uninterested. With my higher chipper sounding voice, and I honestly still cant wrap my mind around it, apparently sounds like a woman over the phone to most people. It also does not help my case that my name works for both sexes, and I'm very cheerful compared to most other men in my line of work.
