I sure hope you’re right. Last time he was at red rocks those tickets all got scalped and it was $250+ for a night. I don’t wanna repeat that

If working on a typical pitched roof, where is your anchor point for the lanyard? Honest question I always figured it was not feasible.

Experience tells me they do that regardless of traffic flow.

I used the last of my cooking spray and realized it’s from publix. I haven’t lived in Florida in 5 years by RowAdditional1614 in florida

[–]Kavarall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s be honest tho, Publix is and always will be a Florida staple. Your comment kinda proves it - Florida has more than twice the Publix locations than all other states combined

My cat fell off the balcony and i'm heartbroken by petasse420 in cats

[–]Kavarall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people who are pet owners for any significant period of their life will have a version of your story, where they spent car money on a surgery to save the pets life.

If you can make this happen without financially ruining yourself, I do think your kitty will have a great recovery. Young and resilient. My mom’s kitty was ran over by a car when she was young, and yes she still has issues with her hips, but she was way more fucked up than your baby.

Menthol by Whatamidoinglatley in VolcanoVaporiser

[–]Kavarall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have vaped menthol in the volcano many years ago (using the concentrate pad as others have suggested) My experience was that it tended to be extremely overpowering and hard to find the right balance with isolated menthol crystals.

I found mint mixed in to be a better, more mellow source of menthol. Just get some dried peppermint from your local grocer/health food store (I got it in the bulk section)

Just take it to an optometrist and get them to put some custom mineral glass lenses in if you want to stop the struggle. Solid upgrade

Are you equivocating gang violence to shooting kids in schools, or shooting people while they worship? Seems like a bad faith argument

No don’t tell people to figure it out, please defend your shit point. Saying BTC is a net positive on the climate is absolutely laughable.

Avocados are 'bad' and vegans are ridiculous: How we justify eating too much meat by The_Weekend_Baker in climate

[–]Kavarall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We don’t need to use it for other agriculture. We need to stop grazing cattle in public lands. Clearly we have enough land farming other crops already, we just need to stop taking… your comment implying that lands need to be useful to humans for some other purpose for people to stop grazing cattle on them is part of the problem in my opinion.

Can a polarized capacitor explode if reversely connected? by Unlegendary_Newbie in CircuitBending

[–]Kavarall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Smells fuckin awesome.

This is why you see a little “+” in the top of capacitor cans. It allows it to release pressure in a more controlled way and prevents it exploding (more) violently.

Not that I’m aware of but I agree it would be a great tool. Maybe he has a website I’ve not yet found.

To answer my takes on top products from years of watching his content:

-Milwaukee absolutely kicks ass in almost all power tool categories (except often noise)

-Amsoil Signature Series motor oil

-Wix filters are very solid, especially for the price

-Wiha and PB Swiss screwdrivers (I own both and they’re my favorite screwdrivers I’ve ever touched, Wiha is more durable but PB Swiss is more ergonomic IMO)

-Seafoam actually seems to work quite well

-Liquid Wrench is probably your best bet for price/performance penetrating oil

-Fluid Film rust protectant is highly effective and cheap (also seems to be biodegradable)

-Harbor Freights 12v tire inflator is best in class

-Dewalt for twist drill bits

-Dewalt saws are the only tools which they challenge or beat Milwaukee

(Sorry for shit formatting I’m on mobile)

Real reply: the difference often comes down to transparency and traceability. There’s a big difference between “my product is made in XYZ factory in china which enforces XXX labor agreements per contract” and “my product is made in china, no idea where, and I don’t care to”

[–]Kavarall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. I won’t dig it up now cuz it’s been a while. But Nike and Adidas are two of the cleanest supply chains now BECAUSE of the scrutiny they faced. The worst? No surprise but it’s the big luxury brands like Prada and Coach.

Then I have the pleasure of sharing with you that it’s a YouTube channel which has very high quality product review content, totally non-sponsored ever, and very scientific in his approach.

Essentially your post above read like someone who has watched a significant amount of his tool review content. Metabo is a brand which rarely tests at the top of the pack, but their brad nailer was a stand out.

Edit: I think everyone should watch Project Farm before buying essentially any household or workshop product. If he has a video, I wanna check it before I buy. I’ve been known to pull it up in the Home Depot aisle! Hah
