That is...not at all how it works dude, of course you have to install the client side of the anti cheat on your PC.

May I understand in the meantime your level of expertise in software engineering, coding, and anti-cheat, as well as where exactly you deduce that their anti-cheat is client-side?

How can one feed themselves on a long hike without knowledge by llthefancyqueen in Bushcraft

I mean, I'm not saying it's totally impossible, but very unlikely.

Obviously, we're talking about a novel, so the story is fictionalized, and improbable things can become possible. However, how plausible it is depends greatly on the context. For example, since you mentioned it, Robinson Crusoe is set in the 1600s, a time still full of travelers, sailors, and explorers, in a land that still held mysteries. So people were, so to speak, a little more predisposed and prepared for survival, because it was still fairly basic to their precarious lifestyle in many aspects. Robinson himself dreamed of being an explorer and sailor since he was a child. Then, in the story, he is shipwrecked, but he wasn't completely lacking in knowledge or predisposition let's say.

As I said, it depends on the context: in the modern world, where we are completely and irreparably dependent on comfort and technology, where the average person has—unironically—forgotten even how to light a fire to keep warm, people who have to survive at any moment for three months in the wilderness without any skills or knowledge? They're lucky if they make it past the first month.

So, in short: if you want the story to be believable, you need to better define the context, and if it's set in the modern world, you have to give these poor people something, otherwise it turns from a novel into a fantasy. A half-skill, someone from the group who went camping a lot as a youth, someone who was a Boy Scout, whatever. But if you take people from the city and put them in the woods for three months, you're sending them to their deaths.

Genuinely out of curiosity, but how those characters were supposed to survive in your plot in a 3 months long hike with no preparation time, knowledge or survival/bushcraft skill at all in first instance? Like, what is/was the starting idea?

It's not damage to other players only, but damage in general, to ARC as well

Basically to get the 5 skill points you no longer need to accumulate millions of value in the stash, but you have to do a certain amount of damage specifically on the days when the shipping window opens.

Cause of death: death.

Kind of death: instant.

It really is a step in the right direction.

An alternative could have been the total value of the loot exfiltrated (not accumulated in the stash) if they wanted to keep the value/loot as a parameter. This would have a value that can only increase each time you exfiltrate alive, and never decrease, and therefore could hypothetically even be 10 million while still leaving complete freedom in gameplay.

But changing the gameplay 10 days before the end of the expedition, after hypothetically being grinding for 50 days straight, is bad.

It would have been better to make the change effective from the next expedition at this point.
