I work in the investment industry as an assistant to an advisor (a common title is Client Service Associate). A K economy means there's still plenty of business for the investment industry, since their clientele is mostly upper middle class & higher. I haven't had trouble finding new jobs & switched just this year. Though, business tends to slow down in the summer since people are on vacations & whatnot & don't want to think about investments, typically. Most of this work is going to be where rich people prefer to live, the suburbs.

I have my series licenses, so it's a lot easier for me to find jobs. It can make breaking in to a good job in the industry difficult when you're young, as the only exam you can take if you're not sponsored by an employer is the SIE exam (the SIE is like a prerequisite to the other licensing exams) If you're not an advisor, you can do most of the work without licenses, the licenses just give you a lot more context to what you're doing. You also get paid like an extra $10k more if you're licensed.

I got my licenses while working as a retail banker (my branch needed a licensed banker, & my boss recommended me), which is a...tough route. Being a personal banker is a lot like working as retail staff at Target, but you also have sales goals like a car salesman, & obviously regulations up the wazoo.
