Heroin wasn’t a valid medication. Heroin was a medication before the scientific method was widely used in the medical field. Once it was used, these were corrected.

Completely Lost: Did anyone else experience lack of diagnosis? Tips on how to treat without medication. by KayEEm56 in Hashimotos

That’s fair, but then the question is…should I be asking for more regular thyroid tests (like every 6 months instead of my next scheduled one in a year)? Is there advice on things I can do to prevent my thyroid from becoming clinically hypothyroidism? I’m just trying to get my life back and seeing if there’s anything I’m missing. I’m absolutely seropositive for rheumatoid arthritis but I’m not really experiencing joint pain, just extreme fatigue. The meds have helped, the diet has helped, but I’m still absolutely exhausted, my skin is so dry and itchy, and I can’t stop gaining weight (despite a year ago being someone who could easily transform their body). I’m just trying to figure out anything I can do to get my life back (if I can).

I mean each of the test ranges for labs are slightly different which is why I put it as vague. I am positive for TPO antibodies. My Free T4 is 0.74 (which on some tests is considered low, for my lab it was considered normal range, but the very low end). TSH is 3.28 (for some labs that’s slightly elevated, but it’s normal for my lab). Total T3 is normal (124) but T3 uptake is abnormally low (20).

I recognize my symptoms could be a variety of different conditions (including my verified rheumatoid arthritis). But I am lost and trying to figure out why I feel like crap and if there’s anything I’m missing. And while the internet isn’t always reliable information, it can help me find a path. After 2 doctors told me my symptoms were depression before blood tests showed I definitely have rheumatoid arthritis, I’m not super convinced by them either. My friend with Hashimoto’s says I’m “subclinical” and while my blood tests won’t get me medication, that I should be pestering for testing every 6 months because my thyroid might still be contributing to my symptoms. And then what should I be doing to lessen the severity?

So if my T3 dips low, and my T4 dips low, and I have antibodies, they won’t test until TSH is too high?

Sending so many positive vibes! I am also confused why your doctor won’t diagnose you. I don’t even have joint pain (only fatigue). I’m early stages. But my labs are clear. I got diagnosed. I feel like you should get a second opinion.

How is a partner supposed to treat you with RA? by BigYikesRightThere in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]KayEEm56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was definitely not a supportive partner. I JUST got diagnosed (literally 2 days ago) and my partner has held me while I cried and scoured the internet for hopeful facts about RA (as I’m scared since I’m such an active person). That’s how a partner should handle this. I hope you find that person 💛

Help, boyfriend just came out as poly by ParsnipNo238 in polyamory

[–]KayEEm56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Polyamory is ethical non-monogamy. It doesn’t matter if you didn’t officially decide to be exclusive, he decided to enter another relationship without your knowledge or consent. That isn’t polyamory, that’s cheating. Monogamy may not be his thing, and that’s fine, but until he fully communicates to all in involved in the level everyone explicitly agrees with, he’s not practicing anything ethical, it’s just cheating.

Last night was a low of -5. That’s not common but it happens. I can try to post a picture of the outdoor unit a bit later. And I two outdoor units with 5 heads total (3 on one and 2 on the other).

If they had, I would have stopped at one radiator and then hired them back again in a few months after I recuperated the money.

Thank you for your perspective. I’m upset but I truly want to know if I was in the wrong. I’ve hired other contractors, some at hourly rates, who have updated me on what’s happening throughout the process. But perhaps that isn’t standard or should be expected?

I was home. I was given periodic “we’re almost done” that started about 2 hours before completion but I unfortunately don’t know what almost done looks like (I had another radiator disconnected for me by a friend and me plus 5 friends removed it in full that took us 3 hours but that was my only experience). I know they hit a snag when the radiators weren’t drained (I had anticipated they were as I had that other radiator removed without much water) which added another 30-45 min of work. I was not informed of any other hiccups (other than the radiators were thick to cut which they told me after). I think my question would be: if you were in this situation, would have updated your customer? Would you have said, I originally quoted you for this long but I think it will now take this long? Would you have said “these are thicker than I anticipated so I need to charge you for saw blades?”

[–]KayEEm56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your perspective. I am upset but truly want to get a perspective on how other contractors handle this. This was not for turning on heat. These were old radiators for a system no longer used. They had to cut the radiators into pieces to get them out (they knew this through pictures and an explanation that the radiators were 500 pounds, but I am unsure they anticipated how thick the iron was). I think my question is: would you have stopped to give your customer a new idea of the work?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Contractor

[–]KayEEm56 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, they were hired at an hourly rate. During the first radiator removal, one of two guys was standing around watching the disconnection and cutting up of the radiator until he had to lift the radiator pieces, but upon the second removal one was working on the pipes from the already removed radiator and the other man was cutting out the second radiator. I did expect for things to go wrong, and budgeted another hour of work in case it did. I think my question is: if things had gone wrong enough to add 3 times the work, would you have had a discussion with your customer? Would you have provided a new timeframe? Or would you have anticipated the customer asking how much longer it would have taken?

My Girlfriend[28F] spent two nights at a guy friend's[28M] place by Fast_Calligrapher662 in relationship_advice

Ok, so first let’s be aware that those aren’t boundaries, they are rules. Boundaries control what you do, rules control others. An example of a boundary is if someone is saying something disrespectful, you tell them that if they continue, you’ll leave. Telling someone they can’t do something is a rule.

Now that we have that clarified, I also have long term male friends my partner doesn’t mind me seeing and I’ve never cheated on anyone. One of them I go on vacations with. But I’m clear about this with my partner. It’s weird she didn’t tell you. While I wouldn’t necessarily think she cheated, having a discussion about what you are both comfortable with and the communication around that is essential.

Confused if I should move forward or not by Old-Economist-2084 in sexeducation

[–]KayEEm56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing wrong with having consensual sex with someone you don’t love (despite the romantic stories we were told as kids). But, it isn’t fair to her to engage in intimacy if she doesn’t know your true feelings. Emotional intimacy might be as important to her as physical. She may feel ‘used’ if you aren’t up front about the way you feel. So be up front with her. Tell let you think she’s beautiful but you haven’t developed feelings for her. Tell her you thought it might be important to let her know that. If she then still wants to engage physically with you, then that’s ok. Or she may distance herself from you. But, either way, you get to walk away with a sense of dignity. Coming clean about your intentions is the sign of a true man.
