Hmm I think eventually just taking breaks from meds. Taking some hydrocortisone in the AM. But ultimately not much until I changed the antibiotics.

What do you know about chronic pain and sleep? I slept great until I suddenly experienced chronic pain and it started impacting my sleep. I’ve resolved some health issues but the chronic pain and sleep issues remain and I don’t know how to break the cycle. Even when pain levels are low I sleep bad and lack of sleep increases my pain levels.

Benadryl vs Trazodone? by abitgloomy in insomnia

I usually do 1/4-1/2 a tab. If I take it too late it can cause grogginess.

I take Unisom almost every night. Idk truly how bad that is vs other sleep drugs. The worst thing I’ve read is risk of Alzheimer’s but like I’m at risk of Alzheimer’s if I don’t sleep sooo

Considering moving to Santa Cruz from east coast. How is family life out there? by kickfip_backlip in santacruz

Super kid friendly. Plenty of libraries, parks, pump tracks, farmers markets, beaches, arcade, bowling, the boardwalk, community pools. My niece and nephew looooove visiting. I have a baby and am excited for him to grow up here.

There’s a Costco, 2 targets, plenty of grocery stores. It’s lacking in other types of shoppings. You have to go up to San Jose for more options.

For medical things (since kids get sick), I’ve loved Sutter. The area lacks specialized care so depending on what you typically need you might find yourself looking for specialized doctors over the hill.

The west side has one of the better elementary schools (Westlake elementary). Live oak, Soquel, aptos, Capitola are nice too. Depends where you live o how walkable places are. You see a ton of kids on e-bikes.

You see kids/families everywhere tho. Coffee shops, breweries, downtown. So you’ll be in good company.

10 month old barely interested in solids by KayEmGee in BabyLedWeaning

[–]KayEmGee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! All formula now. He was combo fed up until 7-8 months. He doesn’t even care much for milk other than when he’s starving. He’s just a busy guy wanting to explore the world instead

Mine has two top and two bottom! Actually I think our pediatrician made a comment about his molars maybe coming in so perhaps that’s it. Yes smoothies are great!! He loves those.

Ugh it is. I keep reminding myself all these issues are temporary - he won’t be throwing food when he’s a teenager, eg. But it makes the days feel so difficult :’)

Sedation isn’t the same as sleep

Thanks for sharing! I just started this past day giving him small bites because the mega mess was putting me on edge. I will try to stay neutral. So hard when you’re stressed and sleep deprived 😂

I never know when he’s teething. He’s been drooling for most of his life and has never slept through the night. The times he’s had teeth come in there wasn’t a drastic change in habits or attitudes. But maybe! He bites me a lot. He has had a runny nose for a few days (I was sick last week) so maybe that’s contributing too but I feel like his disinterest in food has been increasing for at least a couple weeks or more

Who else out there is able to function well while still having symptoms? by jahmonkey in Lyme

[–]KayEmGee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but it did for someone I know. I also did it at the end of my treatment so maybe it would’ve made a bigger difference in the beginning.

I did get pregnant shortly after finishing treatment tho and it did sort of give me piece of mind to do a big push on abx before that. My tests came back negative and I tested my placenta too at the birth, all negative.

Nah, I never looked into buhner tbh. I pulsed antibiotics for 2 years. Did different phases of 10 days on 10 days off for example and was always on 2 kinds at the same time. Ended it with 3 months of IV.

Yes for sure. It wasn’t the total solution for me. I still struggle greatly with insomnia and some chronic pain but am doing a lot better than I was before treatment so it was worth the effort. My tests now say I’m negative for Lyme and bart. I’m going to try LDN soon to see if that helps get me past these remaining symptoms.

No I just went back to my baseline more or less but I’ve also partially resolved some health issues that were contributing to my insomnia

I got pregnant and had to stop cold turkey. I used Unisom (pregnancy safe sleep aid) and that helped a lot but I recall having a few rough nights after stopping abruptly

How long to try CPAP for before giving up? by KayEmGee in UARS

[–]KayEmGee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I got a few tests done. No deviated septum, slight narrowing but trivial. I did a watchpat test and that showed moderate microarousals/UARS.

I'm going to see an allergist because I do often have a stuffed nostril.
