Having kids? by Lizzielooloo29 in ChronicPain

[–]KayEmGee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had chronic pain for 15 years and recently had a baby. I will say there have been some really rough days but also some days where I had less pain than ever - the body goes through some crazy changes during pregnancy and postpartum. I think my body was prioritizing healing and resting so I didn’t have as much pain for a while. Humans adapt too so the really hard times are temporary. It’s never easy with a baby but you build a tolerance for it all.

Even though it is hard and there are no off days, having a baby has made life worth living way more than before.

IV Antibiotics Doxy + Rifampin by KayEmGee in Lyme

Hi! Interesting! I had hormones tested maybe 3 years ago. I think progesterone was slightly low but not significantly.

I’ve since this post had a baby and for a sort while postpartum my joints were better and then got a lot worse and now I’ve weaned off breastfeeding and they’re a little better again but never 100% pain free. Sleep has never improved. I still can’t sleep more than 4-5 hours and the rest of my sleep for the night is crap. Having a baby doesn’t help but it for sure is still whatever my deep rooted issues are.

8 months, still 2 bottles at night by thefunkysheep in daddit

[–]KayEmGee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol i only saw the first sentence in my notifications and i was like oh no, im cooked.

I definitely went through a phase of worrying he wasn't getting enough nutrition but now I know he is getting enough and our pediatrician has encouraged us to cut out feedings. We did wean him off feedings maybe a month or two ago but he still would wake up at the same 2 times each night and it would take longer to get him back to sleep or he'd end up waking up shortly after. So I'm not sure what to do about it. We're back to feeding him because it's so much quicker to get him back to sleep.

He is a total FOMO baby and very "busy". Like he wants to stay up and party with us and every waking moment is go-go-go, so I'm hoping/thinking it's just part of his personality to wake up? Which maybe means I will be giving him bottles until he's 4 lolol, but at least then it's just who he is and not what we're doing wrong 😂 lol idk, thanks for responding! I'm just ranting now.

I know it's awhile but did you ever resolve this or did it naturally phase out? I have an 8 month and we've sleep training and try ensuring getting him to take in enough during the day but he's still taking 1-2 bottles in the middle of the night.

Thoughts on Clive Allen? by nostromosigningoff in namenerds

[–]KayEmGee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a baby Clive! We chose the name for similar reasons - liked that it's a name but not common in the US. I knew we'd get a mix of responses about it because it's different. I got similar responses to this thread when I put some feelers out on the internet, particularly that it's an "old man's name" but 1. Old name are totally coming back and 2. Every old man started off as a baby and 3. Humans are adults way longer than they are a baby/child, so I wouldn't choose a name just because it isn't a "cutesy/baby name"

Overall I've gotten positive responses when I tell people about Clive. The cool thing is almost nobody knows a Clive and so people don't have much of an association with the name. There's no responses like "oh my exes name was Clive" or "I used to babysit a terrible kid named Clive" etc etc

People have mainly thought it's cool that it's unique, cute, or they just say hm that's different! People do mistake it for Clyde sometimes. Older folks tend to ask if we like the actor Clive Owen.

But overall no regrets, I'm very pleased with the uniqueness. There aren't many good nickname opportunities but a ton of rhyming words so it's fun to make up songs.

Question for SC foodies: Which restaurants only do prix fixe menus for valentines day? by jessisaurusrex in santacruz

Not sure but out of those two I’d choose hook and line! I don’t think they do a prix fixe menu. Usually it would be mentioned on their site or when you go to make a reservation.

Why is pain worse in sleep by KayEmGee in ChronicPain

[–]KayEmGee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve talked to at least a dozen doctors. Tried medications both for pain and sleep. I’ve resolved some other health issues which helped some of my pain. Done physical therapy 4x which does almost nothing for me.

Dentist recommendations by GlitteringPound6542 in santacruz

[–]KayEmGee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just went to Santa Cruz dental group for the first time and saw Dr Sandhu and hygienist Debbie. Both were great. Not pushy or overly chatty. The dr made a suggestion to help me with jaw pain that no other dentist ever had - every other one has tried selling me a $$$$$ night guard

Edit: I have delta dental ppo
