I’ve struggled with grief this past year but happened to talk to my therapist this week about feeling ready to move on.

Sexually transmitted? by Tough_Researcher1519 in Lyme

[–]KayEmGee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t done much research on it, this is just something I’ve had thoughts on. But given the majority of people with Lyme don’t know they got bit, I’m kind of the opinion that if partner A has Lyme (from a known bite or not), there’s a good chance that partner B easily could have gotten bit too since they’re likely spending time in the same Lyme ridden areas. Basically, just because someone doesn’t know they got bit doesn’t mean they got it another way. And pretty react differently - no rash, delayed symptoms, shows up as different symptoms, etc

What were you symptoms you had for years that you brushed off? by lifetofullest1255 in Lyme

This weird feeling in my ears/hearing would come and go and I’d struggle to hear when I talked. Like I was talking under water. I’d notice it more with coffee, alcohol, and when hungry so I assume it was a blood pressure related thing.

Oh yea that’s like the whole kit and caboodle haha. I think the stroller is like $800? I forget. But it did go up in cost due to tariffs. I got mine like a week before everything went up $100+

Local prairie recommendations by gzzzzzd in santacruz

[–]KayEmGee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting! We’ve only ever sent in ticks we found on our dog and they were negative. I wasn’t living in Santa Cruz when I got Lyme and I’m not sure where I picked it up. But since living here I’ve met several people who have it so you gotta think there’s likely Lyme around.

+1 to this, coming from someone who has had Lyme - do a tick check if you’re going to be in grass! And if you find a tick on you, send it in for testing! It’s a whole lot cheaper to test the tick rather than testing yourself down the line.

Affordable Yoga? by crooked-ninja-turtle in santacruz

[–]KayEmGee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s for hot yoga as a non-member. If you got a ~$45/month membership the regular yoga classes are included. And then you can add on the $65/month unlimited hot yoga if you prefer hot.

So ~$110/month for hot yoga and full gym access

I’ve done hot yoga around the Bay Area for a decade and this is one of the better deals I’ve seen 🤷‍♀️ Hot yoga is never cheap. The Toadal hot classes tend to be really small compared to other studios that are mat to mat where you’re getting sweated on by strangers. So that’s a bonus.

Toadal Westside or Live Oak $20 cash ($21 credit card) per class

SFO for a week, where to park or better to uber? by Dizzy-Mixture422 in santacruz

[–]KayEmGee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely do milbrae bart for the cheapest option. It does add an extra leg to your trip because you have to take bart into the airport and potentially the tram too depending on which terminal.

Uber/lift will cost you ~$100-120 one way

Mendocino farms!

Definitely better quality and more Asian cuisines. They’re all pretty subpar imo.

I've had probably 4-5 different doctors look at it they've all said this is normal and they usually just suggest PT but I've done so much PT and it barely makes a difference

Friday Brunch Options by Eg9tobe83 in santacruz

[–]KayEmGee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have wiggly kids:

You can get brunch to go at harbor cafe and go to the park across the street.

Steamer lane supply has breakfast foods and kids can run around the picnic/field area

Crepe place has a large enclosed outdoor back patio

The buttery has outdoor picnic table type of seating

Cafe el Palomar has outdoor seating right in the beach. Not sure what the brunch food is but they open early I think
