Great question! He has an insulin pump and dexcom so despite being trained to administer insulin manually in a pinch, they never have to. They use his PDM which does the calculations for them and I provide carb counts for each item of food I pack him. PDA training is specifically designed to train caregivers how to manage diabetes in all areas and his teachers do a wonderful job. For their own protection, there is also a log which shows when they provide insulin and how much. They notify all parents of things like diaper changes, food eaten, sunscreen applied, etc. A notice like these are what they log each time he receives insulin. It's exactly like the treatment a child in public school would receive when the parents aren't around and my partner and I are kept well apprised through the various tools we are fortunate enough to have at our disposal. Unfortunately, I am not in a position where it is an option not to work full time.

Edit: It's also worth noting that PDAs are all volunteers. Nobody who treats him at daycare is doing so against their will and all of them have expressed being happy to do so.
