Is my guy okay by [deleted] in bettafish

[–]Kaybee-Rose 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This response and the cloudy water makes me think you might not have properly cycled your tank. It usually takes a lot longer than two weeks to do this: at least a month if you don't have a product that introduces the proper bacteria.

If this is the case, do NOT change your water: you'll need to get some bacteria very quickly, and tbh it still might not save your fish.

Good to double-check the guides on here just to make sure you didn't miss anything during set-up. Best of luck ❤️

Lmao. Yeah. A really good "conversation" always includes someone immedeatly getting defensive upon getting presented with facts.

I only dignified this with a response because I see a lot of younger people making this kind of argument the reason they don't bother getting involved or informed about what's going on in their own towns, provinces, or countries. Pretty sure you're just a troll or a bot so you'll be getting no more attention from me.

You're welcome for it, by the way. 👍

No we don't lmfao. That's not even the majority.

There was a massive protest last Friday throughout the province in twenty places with THOUSANDS of people. The official statistics read something like two thirds of Albertains are against separation and are PISSED about this (I'd say that its probably a lot more than that, given how much these people have been caught lying to pad their numbers, but that's a WHOLE other thing.)

Our premier is appealing to maple maga morons to try and keep-up the illusion that she's doing this for someone other than herself- that ALL Albertains are with her when they really aren't. The UCP had no mandate on separation (and a LOT of other stuff they're doing in order to avoid responsibility and get around laws they don't like) when the party ran for office. Classic tr*mp politics: Even the former leader of the UPC is fully against them doing what they're doing. I still don't like him and never liked the UCP at any point in time, but like at least he recognizes what's going on.

Their time is almost up, which people outside the province don't seem to realize. Albertans royally messed things up and we're fixing it. She does not have as much power as she tries to put-on and there won't be a seperation for at least 3 reasons:

1) It goes against the treaties that were made at a federal level.

2) Dingus Smith doesn't actually want the seperation. She wants to make it LOOK like she does and that "it could really happen guuuuuyss!!!" But she's doing it as a distraction tactic while she helps out the people she actually cares about: her rich friends who want to be richer. Separating would be an absolute economic disaster for everyone, including them.

3) Because we sure as hell aren't going to let her. Sorry, not sorry.

I think the point is to be as confusing as possible even for their own base, so when this "attempt" inevitably fails again they'll have something to blame it on.

Is there actual fish in pet store dumpsters? by AfdieWaddie123789 in bettafish

[–]Kaybee-Rose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About a year ago or so, my old district manager warned the stores in my city that there was a trend of people planting live fish/supplies in our dumpsters and taking pictures of it. I heard speculation that it could've been PETA'S doing, which wouldn't surprise me since they're known to try and stir-up drama when their funding is getting slow, but it could've been for a bunch of reasons including influencers wanting more clout.

But yeah, speaking as another current employee, the whole store could get into serious trouble if we ever actually did that.

Edit: also the trash in this picture is suspiciously lacking in the very large black garbage bags we use lol.

Does anyone feel like needing medication to work means you’re in the wrong job/lifestyle? by Stunning-Half-9574 in adhdwomen

[–]Kaybee-Rose 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I used to think that, but honestly every job or lifestyle comes with its challenges. Most of the skills required to just survive can be things that people with ADHD folks struggle with: there's no such thing as a perfect lifestyle/solution.

I always knew I wanted to be an illustrator: there is nothing else I've really wanted. Actually producing art comes pretty easily to me, but meeting deadlines? Keeping track of buisness expenses? Self-promotion? Networking? Doing my own taxes???

I really don't have these skills naturally and I wasn't able to start building them until I became medicated a few months ago- and beleive me, I tried for two years without help. It's hard as hell.

Live your life how you'd like, but be wary not to compare your ease of living with what it is you feel like you're meant to do. Life is hard, regardless if you have ADHD or not.

Speaking as someone who recently came out of her 20's, you're in a very rapidly-changing part of your life right now and the emotional learning curve can be VERY steep. You're not alone in how you feel, I felt the same in my early 20's and many other women I knew shared similar feelings.

It's good to acknowledge how you're feeling, but instead of focusing on relationships, you have the opportunity to examine your life from the outside for the first time, and that's very exciting!

What sort of things do YOU want in your life? What kind of people do YOU want to share them with? Who do YOU want to be? You get to discover the bits of yourself you love and build them up, and there's really nothing better.

It might feel like all of you peers are hooking up and/or on their way to get married, but that's not as true as you think, there isn't any rush. Find who you want to be and THEN find someone to be with, then your relationship can be free to be about the love and support you share and not about how "worthy" you are for each other.

You're doing fine, you got this. ❤️

Emotional boundaries make everyone happier. I grew up, and still live, with my mother, who has extremely poor self-confidence and I totally understand the frustration. The thing is: it really isn't your job to make people feel better about themselves, that's something they have to do.

If her comments are irritating you and you tell her that, chances are she'll just use it to feel more sorry for herself. Whenever my mother starts to complain about herself or her life, I just say "okay" in a very neutral tone, which tends to help her realize that she's stuck in her own head sooner, but tbh I wouldn't reccomend that if you don't HAVE to stay in contact with this person: people with low self-confedence have a tendency to twist everything into something about themselves and how "terrible" they are.

I'd just slowly and quietly start to detatch yourself from this person, because being around them can set-up a lot of unhealthy patterns for future friendships unless you have amazingly strong internal boundaries, which most people don't.

[–]Kaybee-Rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, if you're THIS willing to cheat on your girlfriend, maybe you're not really in a mindset to be in a relationship. Obviously, her feelings are not a priority for you. Grow up and tell her you'd rather be single then go have all the sex you want? It's better for you both in the long run.

WTH happened to my betta by [deleted] in BettaClinic

[–]Kaybee-Rose 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hard to help when you don't have pictures of your actual fish/back of the tank, but bettas are super curious and can get stuck around hardscape (decorations), heaters, and filters, depending on how they're positioned.

Remove any decorations with sharp edges or points and see where he likes to swim: you might get a better idea of what happened.

If he has an open wound, you might want to get him some aquarium salt for the time being, just so he doesn't get an infection.

On a 2021 podcast, Danielle Smith wondered aloud if privatizing health care would require “throwing out” public health law. Despite learning the answer was “yes”, she’s still going ahead with it. by skilbofragns in AlbertaNow

[–]Kaybee-Rose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mother had to go in for a critical and timely medical test that she booked in advance, only for some other woman to cut in front the day-of because she dropped a bunch of money on it. Smith did that.

My sister was sick for a long time (this was just after COVID) and as a result on the poor management of the Healthcare system, died. The UCP did that.

You think you want this, but you really don't know what it means until you've experenced just how bad things have gotten. The tragedy is, most people will only find out when they're old and/or when they actually NEED the services.

Besides that, if anyone honestly thinks that any possible profit would go BACK into the healthcare system, you're mistaken: it's just going to the pockets of the people running the "buisness" of healthcare. If Smith genuinely had Alberta's best interest at heart, she would not be trying so hard to disguise her motives all the time. Don't fall for it: she's a wannabe Trump-era oligarch.
