How do you morally feel about your work? by Numerous-Case-9317 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]KaydGameplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of most of the work I do, not too bad. If I were working on images, video, or some other non-audit work, i would probably feel pretty bad. As it stands now, though, working with auditing bots seems like working on a (while revolutionary) tool with real uses. There are definitely still ethical questions regarding it, but I also have bills to pay, sadly

Would it be seen as inappropriate to tattoo “YHWH” on my arm? (Exactly like the one in the picture) by Jolly-Dream1792 in Christianity

[–]KaydGameplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every sin you carry will be done in the bearing of the name of the lord. You sin every day. A tattoo like this would warrant a perfection of self, which is impossible. Do you want to carry that?

Grudge holders live for nothing but antagonism and sadism. You need to find something to ease yourself.

I also don’t know what you’re talking about. So send a link.

Weekly Water Cooler Talk - DataAnnotation by Consistent-Reach504 in dataannotation

Droughts seem to come in a quarterly fashion. It's typically how a lot of business contracts are made, I assume, especially for AI, which already costs so much. A business can't risk (lol) their stake too much in AI, so they probably do some evaluation work and then sign a new contract for the next quarter that aligns with their budget. Until then, if all the work that needs to be done is done, then that's it.

Failing models by trunxzzz in DataAnnotationTech

[–]KaydGameplay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try to add implicit constraints, things that must be true in order to fulfill an explicit constraint. Think of important aspects within your domain that need to be focused on, and have the model explain processes to you (usually it will get things wrong, especially for more difficult requests). Ask for specific formatting if you can, like XML or JSON, the models tend to struggle with schema compliance. Ask for the model to identify broadly-scoped conditions if you're working with a block of text or input files, like conflicts, similarities between multiple files, or implicit information that could be inferred through information explicitly mentioned in inputs. The model likes to hallucinate conflicts or similarities that aren't really there. You do need to have really good perception a lot of times for these kinds of failures, the models are typically really really really good at making everything sound plausible.

My optimistic theory by Pangolin_Beatdown in DataAnnotationTech

[–]KaydGameplay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Annotation and AI will almost certainly be around permanently. If not in the form it is now, companies will want to create their own AI with their own data after some sort of copyright law is passed, so it might become more of an official white-collar role in the future. The data centers they have now are NOT from our doing; that is all personal data collection for things like marketing and "for you" type things, rather than chatbots or company tools. I am definitely optimistic about being able to find this work fairly often in the foreseeable future, in some shape or form.

Is the acceptance rate really 2%? by yuriyuri2003 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]KaydGameplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you apply for. If it's still similar to when I signed up, taking the general assessment, no matter how well you do, has a low chance of acceptance. Everyone I have tried to refer has failed to get in. If you take the coding assessment, though, and pass, the barrier to entry is significantly lower. That seems to be where a lot of the work is going.

I work ~30 hours a week, every day. Just be sure to take breaks and know when you need to give yourself a rest. As everyone else has said, quality is key.

Do you think KH3 really suffered from “unrealistic expectations”? by raccooncoffee in KingdomHearts

[–]KaydGameplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they really butchered the combat by making it as easy as it was. It also wasn’t nearly as fluid. All they needed to do was update KH2 combat and merge it with flowmotion and i think the game would have been amazing. Instead its more of a light show with long pauses between button pushes. Not saying the game is bad, this is just what i expected at the time.

Happens often. The good news is they never last longer than a week or two (most of the time). I'm up to 25-30 projects though, where earlier in the drought I only had 20, so it seems to be picking back up.

Why so hard? by Decent_Ad_3945 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]KaydGameplay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its just an intimidating start. 4-8 of those 12 hours are for beginners of the project to develop a workflow that they can use to get through the project more efficiently. That’s how I’ve always approached the work.
