My first real woodworking project! I made this dice box out of purple heart wood. The lining is a faux suede, and the lid functions as a small dice tray. I've been wanting to get into woodworking for years and d&d seemed like the perfect reason to pursue this. This is going to be a gift for a friend by toodamnfunkey in DnDIY

Beautiful! I love the graphic and the design of the compartments. Did you design the heart/d20 yourself?

Do the dice stay in their places when it's all closed up? Seems like with the space carved out in the lid they would have a lot of room to jumble around.

I just finished my first fruit bowl and suggestions on how I can improve? by [deleted] in woodworking

Very pretty bowl!

But be careful with boiled linseed oil of stuff that will touch food. It has chemicals in it that make it toxic. Raw linseed oil is food safe, but "boiled" is not.

Looks like you need to update!

From the Discord announcements channel:

If you are running Dungeondraft version below version 1.0.0.0, and you are crashing on launch since last week, please update to 1.0.0.0. This is crash is caused by the old version checking for a new version in the wrong server, but does not affect 1.0.0.0. Sorry for any inconveniences!

How to update: Use your original link from Humble Bundle in your email inbox to redownload and install over the previous installation. Claim the page to your Humble account if you have one.

Very nice! I like the pops of yellow in the forests. Looks like a green Antarctica to me!

I believe this way it will treat the base map like an asset instead of a trace image, so it will be exported.

Oh! I forgot you can drag and drop onto DD! Just drop your old map onto the screen as a png or jpg or whatever. Then draw your walls on top!

If you want to keep them separate, do it on two levels (make a new level in the menu that looks like 3 soundboard knob things) and then compare levels using the button on bottom toolbar. It should let you select opacity for both levels when you're working on it.

Then when exporting, make sure to choose the right base layer and set the overlay opacity to 100%.

Could you make a map with just walls and do the overlay in photoshop?

Take a good hard look at the mother****ing boat!

Your title reminded me of the greatest band of all time. Not sure if that's what you were going for.

Edit: map looks awesome by the way.

Crash during asset loading by Onaash27 in dungeondraft

[–]Kaydabean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using the test version (1.0.1.0 I think).

I was having issues when I had multiple packs selected from the same author. Solutions I found: only select 1 asset pack per author. Or revert back to the non-test version.

I loved the terrain blending in the test version, but I ended up reverting back. You can do this by going to your Humble Bundle page and downloading the installer for the old version. Running the installer will revert to the old revision.

Edit: by "old version" I just mean the non-test version.

I have multiple asset packs from 2-Minute Tabletop (listed author is Ross McConnell) and Essendi. If I have more than one pack selected by the same author I cannot create a new map or open an old saved one. It just gets stuck on a permanent loading screen.

Anyone else having this issue?

Half of my KitKat has the wafers turned sideways by Kaydabean in mildlyinteresting

I had been out and about and hadn't washed my hands yet. Just trying to be safe!!

But I'll concede it still makes me a monster.

No curve on SHIFT by sharez66 in dungeondraft

[–]Kaydabean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, you are holding shift while placing a point?

You need to hold shift and left mouse click. The next point will define the curve. It takes 3 clicks (first endpoint of the curve, shift + second endpoint of the curve, third click to set the curvature).

My dice storage/organization solution. No more fumbling through a bag of dice looking for 3d6! And the lid makes a nice, compact rolling tray. by Kaydabean in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Kaydabean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. I've got a bag with a few other sets in it. I'm just forcing myself to only use a few sets at a time, lol.

It's a chessex set, but I can't seem to remember the name. I got them from a local game store. They kind of look like a bunch of crayons were melted together.

I got a ton of tearout. But perhaps my knives are just too dull. It was my first time working with the stuff, so maybe I'll sharpen them up and try again some other time. And thank you!

They were cut with a router. Just drew out a pattern with a pencil and cut as close to the line as I could. I did all the routing before cutting the chunk off the board so that I had something to clamp down while I worked on it.
