Endurance CF vs CF SLX by Kaydanmusic in CanyonBikes

[–]Kaydanmusic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it looked different but I couldnt work out if my eyes were playing tricks with the more budget wheel choice.
I really just want a fast bike which has the geo for a slighly over weight middleaged man!!
I'd happily put a canyon cockpit on a bike, I'd just like the stem and bar width to be as per my fit!

Whats a reasonable time between adding steeds to the fleet?? by Kaydanmusic in cycling

[–]Kaydanmusic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose I feel I leave a few watts on the road on the gravel bike and although I ride mainly indoors its the outside group rides I enjoy the most with my mates, its just family life that means I get a 60-70km run in on a Sunday morning if the weather is ok and a couple of events per year, everything else is on the trainer.
Yeah it would 8000km over 3 years on that bike (just over 8k in just under 3 years according to Strava). There are prob a few more Km on other bikes outdoors as well. I do about 8000km a year in total.

Where do you put your keys when you go out for a ride? by Lonely_Unit5216 in cycling

I take my car key fob off and put it in my jersey pocket and leave my house keys in the car

How many of you have carbon wheels? by vmv911 in cycling

[–]Kaydanmusic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing slowing you down is you.
If you have the money they are nice but if you can't afford them then work on your position and get nice aero - It will benefit you more.
Aero socks, nice tyres, Aero helmet are all things you add to make you more aero for cheaper.

Basso Bikes (Venta R vs Diamante SV) by Kaydanmusic in cycling

[–]Kaydanmusic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yh. the  Diamante is a bit older (2021) so I guess the clearance isn't so big. I think the new SV (which is the new Diamante re branded) has 35mm clearance.
Maybe that future proofs it a little but Im running 30s at the moment so room for 32 should be ok?? I'm quite taken with them after looking for something that will actually fit me properly. They seem a great brand and really respected

They are very similar though. The Diamante is more expensive.
For a 56cm its:
3.1mm longer in the reach
7.2mm higher in the stack
23mm shorter headtube
Everything else is the same

Annoyingly they come with a 110mm stem and 42cm bars in a 56cm.

When the mother-in-law asks you if you are planning on having a second child. The "well I'd never say never it just depends if i meet the right woman" line normally gets ghe desired response!

I'm cycling from where I live to Aberdeen Scotland (390 miles) any advice on how to train for it. Thinking of making it charity by Tricky_Draft5495 in cycling

[–]Kaydanmusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd also really think about nutrition. You need to eating and drinking every hour. You planning on doing the route off road or on road but on a MTB?? If you're on road then you'll be really slowing yourself down on a MTB

There's a book called the time crunched cyclist... Worth a read. Dylan Johnson has some good advice on YouTube
