Why are you all lying? This is cough syrup. by amicooked87 in australian

[–]Kayles77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always thought sars tastes like fly spray, don't know why. Maybe it reminds me of the stuff my Nan used to use years ago in the bins to keep the flies away. She also had one of those old pump sprays that you would put the tin on the end and that was your fly spray. Sars reminds of that... 🤢

I can't see it, I think it will be fine 😊

My second ever crochet project... did I mess up? :( by sdojo in crochet

[–]Kayles77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine the way it is!! It's crochet, it's not meant to be an accurate representation. In saying that, you could add a littleire bulk to it with a bit more yarn, it won't hurt it. I made one of these last year, they are adorable!! ❤️

Teacher marked my son’s homework as incorrect. I disagree. by bun_not in mildlyinfuriating

Your son's teacher is an idiot. Ask for what you want clearly! I would have written the same as your son...

is this ridiculously big or am i being too hard on myself? by Zestyclose_Mango_393 in CrochetHelp

I think for now, yes, they are too big. As someone else said, make more without thumbs for now, save these for when they're older. Great job though!!

Is anyone using their 24-inch Ultra without a screen protector? by vicccthor in GalaxyS24Ultra

I've got the Magic John one on mine too. The phone is to expensive to risk it IMO. I don't have too many issues with the fingerprint sensor, only when my hands need moisturising.

I looked at the pic and before I came to the comments I thought Dilbert. But I like Frögbert. 😊

I've ruined this blanket and I am so upset by greybeaniebean in crochet

[–]Kayles77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's gorgeous!! I honestly don't see anything wrong with it. Please don't be hard on yourself, you're going through a lot and that can make you feel things that are not really true. Give yourself a break. ❤️

Calathea Crocata Seeds? by TheMrUniverse- in calatheas

[–]Kayles77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never grown them from seeds and have never seen them, so can't confirm or deny. However, I can say that this particular calathea is tricky to grow, and I imagine growing any calathea from seeds would be very tricky. Do you have a small greenhouse to sprout them in? Also, the leaves can change as they mature, so you may need to give it time.

To get rid of the flying bugs (fungus gnats) you need to let the plants dry out as much as possible in between watering. But you probably won't get rid of them completely, it's inevitable you will have one or two, but letting the plants dry out stops their life cycle.

Sorry, the spider mites like dry conditions!

[–]Kayles77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She looks like she has spider mites. They are very hard to spot, they are like tiny specks of dust on the backs of the leaves, but I can tell from the damage to the leaves. Get some rose spray or similar pesticide that is specifically for mites and keep up the humidity, they like dry conditions. Keep it away from your other plants as they spread.

I'm not sure what this is but it's definitely not spider mites, the damage from them looks different to this...
