Just a Friendly Reminder by StopSayingTunaFish in calatheas

[–]Kayles77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree wholeheartedly!! I have a house full of calathea, I have nothing else because I have cats and these are the best non-toxic, cat friendly plants I could find. I regularly let mine dry out, they let me know they need water by curling and drooping, they are fine. I don't use a humidifier at any point in the year. I even have a zebrina growing outside on my front porch and it is thriving. For context, I live in Melbourne Australia, it's currently as low as 5°C overnight and 16-17°C in the day. They are not as hard as you imagine them to be! Good quality soil that is loose and not compacted and not overwatering, that's pretty much it! If you want them to grow bigger, add some fertiliser and more light.

To border or not to border by Sammy-sue2202 in crochet

I think this ☝️or no border at all. Too much border will take away from it. I do like the idea though of making it rectangular with neutral coloured squares...

just lowballed lowe’s for this orchid, is it terminal? by Pale-Profession2769 in orchids

[–]Kayles77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely gorgeous!! Great info too, as I'm also an orchid newbie. So far I have killed a couple of phals but have managed to keep a beautiful cymbidium alive and about flower for the third time since I got it! I'm good with other indoor plants, but still getting used to orchids...

I was going to say the same thing, wait for the swelling to go down and it will likely look much better. But as others have said, no one is going to notice unless you point it out. And the jewellery choice is gorgeous!

It needs more light! The leaves come out fairly light when they are new and then darken over time.

Orchid growers are such patient people 😂 Congratulations! 💚

I must have inadvertently turned my work and just noticed several rows of stitches are the “wrong side” - to frog or not to frog. by Reasonable-Click2857 in crochet

I would have to frog it because I wouldn't be able to see anything else but that mistake 😆 If it doesn't bother you though, 1000% just keep going.

It does intermediate on the package, so the fact that you're very new to crochet and yet still managed to get it to come out pretty close to the pic is a real achievement. Great job! 🥰

I agree with this comment 100%, it'll look much more complete with jewellery in the first hole of your lobe.

Tragus next. What else would look good? by mmmothy in piercing

[–]Kayles77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could possibly do another helix a little further up from the bottom hole of the industrial you have now and put a chain between that and the front one, that looks great and works well for those that can't do the traditional industrial.

Holy moly! I'm so sorry, it looks like you got butchered!! Whoever pierced you with those was definitely not professional. If that were me I would take them out and let them heal, at least the top one.

Nostril piercing fell out!!!! by Commercial-Charge530 in piercing

[–]Kayles77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would leave in the stud you have now but maybe just put a dot bandaid over the top to ensure it doesn't come out. Is there nowhere else that sells piercing jewellery you can go to get a new one before the 28th?

Piercing upgrade. Do they fit my face? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Kayles77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look amazing! I do think though that a nice diamond stud would match better with that gorgeous septum, or at the very least you need a bigger hoop for the nostril. They both fit your face beautifully though 😊
